A query from a relative newcomer who’s only owned a Gas Gas... are all trials bikes a PITA to work on, or is it just the Gassers? Assuming it could be all as they’re so tightly packaged but there’s a lot of things on that bike coming from years of owning Hondas and KTMs that I find downright odd and frustrating... sure they use them for trade testing Spanish bike apprentices.

I have noticed on my Sherco 290 that even though it has a hydraulic clutch lever, the force required to operate it is similar to that of a cable system of old. Also, the bite point is only over a few degrees of lever movement and I find this unnecessarily difficult to control. I have looked at the design of the lever itself and feel this can be greatly improved upon. My question is does anyone know of a better hydraulic clutch lever that gives a wider degree of movement at the bite point and less force to operate? If not, I will design and produce one myself Thanks

I'll soon be 71years young and enjoying trials practice with a great bunch of riders on my 250cc trials bike I still get a buzz climbing steep gradients and tight turns over logs etc. but starting to need something much lighter and easier to kick start. I've considered a 125 but they don't feel much lighter than a 250 indeed a lot of the cycle parts are the same. So what are your thoughts of a 5ft 9inch 12stone 71 year young having fun on modern 80cc big wheel .

Hello everyone! I found a small problem with my bike - the edges of the decals are peeling off. I want to show you how to solve this problem. We will need a degreaser (you can use something like White Spirit) and glue for the fabric in a can. This glue I bought for gluing fabric to the subwoofer-stealth in the car. The peculiarity of this glue is that it is very sticky and sticks even to polyethylene parts. We peel off part of the decals, or even the entire decals. We clean the plastic and the edges of the stickers from di…

Some of the stickers on my GasGas are starting to come away at the edges and have lost there stickiness (I was probably over keen with the jet wash and liberal use of silicone spray afterwards). What glue is best for sticking them back down before they peal too much and get damaged? Ideally I want something that is strong enough to reattach them but not too strong that they will never come off again if I decide to replace the stickers at a later date.

Just got back from a week of Gwent Schoolboys Training camp, and what a fantastic time we had. With three days of training 7 hours per day and five instructors who helped with my riding techniques like Joe Baker teaching me how to splat a waterfall step Then a trial and BBQ to finish off on Friday . A Big thank you to The Paynes and everyone involved . Jake Evans-Luter

Hi All, thought I'd get a fun conversation going about which bikes we love and why. Here's my list: 1996 Beta Techno. Representing something quite different from it's competitors with suprisingly modern handling. 1997 through '99 Montesa Cota 315. The best bike of it's time in many ways 2000 Bultaco Sherco. These early bikes were a bold statement of intent from Sherco. They meant bussiness. 2005 Sherco 320 4T. An absolute weapon. 2005 Montesa Cota 4RT. A bike that has since become the most winning bike in the history of Trials. 2009 GasGas Raga Replica. Possibly the best colour scheme of any bike to this day. 2009 Beta Evo. A bea…

  14. Hi i'm wanting to get the frame of my sherco powder coated, however i'm unsure as i bought a bike on ebay and went to collect and there were no frame numbers or engine numbers on he said this is because they were powder coated, i obviously turned it down. So was just wondering would powder coating remove the frame/engine numbers? Thanks.

In my search for easy starting 2t trials bikes some have suggested motor mods to ease kick starting. The items that have come up so far are lowering compression and/or adding a compression release for starting (like was used in the 70s as a brake assist) by adding another hole (like a spark plug hole) in the head? Is this even possible with water cooled motors? Does anyone have any knowledge or experience with these mods? OR any other ideas? I'm interested in anything but wondered about the "optimum" compression ratio to get a good balance between starting ease and maintain sufficient power? And/or ideas on how low one can go without really messing up the motor pe…
