Well I am finally done round 1. The Montesa is back together and running. I tore it down to the frame, painted and rebuilt it. New rear shocks, tires, seat and 1 new lower fork. It took me 1.5 weeks to get the forks off and now I can rebuild the front end in 30 minutes. Fun and a lot of learning. I still need HELP! Front forks are rebuilt but I have parts missing. 1 fork was seized - it was missing the lower fork piston bushing. I had to get one machined and then honed down to fit. It works amazing now BUT this fork is 1.5" shorter than the other. The shock I did not rebuild it missing something in the top half of the fork that stops the piston. Expla…

Hi, My name is Tim. I live in Los Angeles. I just bought my first bike since buying my 1975 Kawasaki MC-1 90, when I was 14 (I got into cars since). I'm 64 now. I just bought a mint 400 original-mile 1987 Honda TLR200. It just arrived. Waiting for helmet in the post and I'll be riding again. After waiting 60-years, what's a few more days? lol. Exciting!

I broke the bottom of the lower fork on my Montesa rebuild. ChatGPT told me to hammer down....the forks come up.... I should have realized but didn't. I heard about welding but I think here in Alberta, CA it would be very expensive and no warranty or guarantee. I see exact parts on ebay in the US that look almost new. They look too good to be true but I assume I could rebuild the forks with new seals... Or is it best to try to get an entire fork - upper and lower? The old shocks seemed to be functional 25 years later. Any recommendations would be great.

Hi All, I am new here and new to trials. I recently purchased a beater 1974 ty250 that I am starting to go through. I have 3 other bikes, Husky FE 350s, BSA B50 MX and a BMW r75/5. I have a bad habit of slowing down and falling over. I figured working on my balance is a good idea, a good excuse to buy another bike anyway. 25 years ago I was diagnosed with a rare neurological condition like MS and I was told I had a wheelchair in my future. I have been working hard to prove the docs wrong ever since.

Just picked up an 88 303. Plan on riding it as a volunter checker @ a local club. It needs some TLC, but that's the fun.

Hi, I’m keen to get started on some gentle trials. I’m in Aberdeenshire and have always fancied it, and realise it’s now or never as I get older. I’m budgeting on circa £1k for a used Beta or Gas Gas. Any buying advice appreciated and any more general advice also welcomed. Hope I’m not too old. I had a Fantic when I was 19 and have been a MTBer over the years, so like to think I’ll at least have some sense of balance and technique, but mainly I just want to have some fun and give it a go. Hello everyone, after a long break, divorce, house move and recently an operation, I'm getting back into trials my nephew wants to learn so its inspired me to take it up again i now live in Oudenaarde, belgium so if anybody near me knows of any good practice terrains close by that would be great. i know there is Genk and its a really great training site, but its not just half an hour down the road so will wait until he starts getting the hang of it before going over there. i would like to say hello to Guy if you are still on here, been a long time mate, hope you are fine. and hope everyone else is fine too. Hi everyone, I'm new here from southwestern Ontario, Canada! I found the site as I've been restoring a Bultaco M49 Sherpa T that was left to me by my late Uncle I've done many restorations on other things (tractors, lawn equipment, radios and arcade equipment to name a few) but this is my first bike project. I have been given a lot of good information from Facebook groups but I always enjoy making a forum thread so I plan to document my project here, hopefully in the future my info may help someone else 😊. Hi everyone, I want to say thanks for letting me join. I got my first trials bike when I was a teenager. It was a slightly used 1973 Honda TL125. I rode that thing on the thousands of acres near my house. It's long gone, but I am purchasing a Honda TL250 soon. I ride Honda CRF300L at the moment and enjoy it, but it's time to slow down a little and try the trials thing again. At 67 years old, I hope I can handle standing for so long on the pegs. Hi, new to the group. I have joined as this looks like the place for everything trials related! I used to trial myself around the mid-90s as a young teenager. Now my sons have shown an interest so I have supported them into trials. They've been on Osets the past year as an introduction to the sport and my oldest (13) just upgraded to a Gasgas 125.

Hi new to he fold just bought a Bultaco 350 Sherpa 199A from a friend, it 95% complete lots of new parts including a fresh out the box Mikuni that needs settings altering bike runs and ticks over but when you open throttle 1st quarter bogs down 2nd quarter power is there last half bogs down and will cut out if you hold open.
