Hi, I have only just found this site, looks good. My name is Pat Slinn I'v been around bikes all my life. I was a apprentice at BSA between 1959 and 1964. I have just finished restoring my BSA C15 trials bike. I have problems starting it as I have a few new joints !

helo i am trying to get into trails but there isnt many events for 16 yrs old or much information around the nottinghamshire area any help well aprectated thanks mat wilson

Just wanted to introduce myself, My name is Phil from Barrow in Furness, cumbria. fairly new to trials but been riding off road for around 13 years. As one of those who chose to leave the UK a few years ago with his bikes ( resting in the barn ). I'm happy to find this site and look forward to some interesting exchanges . I used to persaude a bitsa Norman around VMCC trials so I hope to carry on as we have a lot of country around us , albeit with gun-totting hunters around in Winter . The bike was 2T engined with Armstrong forks so I simply fitted what I had ; an 8E motor and went from there . A bit long so one night after failing to get around sections I unbolted the front downtube and with a rope pulled the wheels closer until I had a more Greeves-like wheelbase .voila it turned . I've always enjoyed watching trials events, but now I want to get into it. I actually race offroad motorcycles for a living, but I know practicing on a trails bike will help me become a better rider. Hi there. I am a greybeard from Malmoe in southern Sweden. This year I returned to trials after more than 20 years! I bought a Beta Rev3 270 (2000 model) in May this year an since then I have changed bike twice! I sold the Beta to a friend and got me a Sherco 2,9 (2003 model) and of course another friend bought that one from me a couple of weeks later! So now I own a Sherco 2,9 Cabestany Replica (2007). This bike is truly amazing so I think I will keep it for at least a couple of weeks more...... Anyway, I am glad that I am back on a trialsbike again after all these years. I just bought a 02 315R and I love it.

Hi all, just picked up a 2002 Montesa, to learn a bit about Trialing. Just going round the garden at present, ruining the grass!! Hey Ho. Waiting to get a manual so if anyone can help with a couple of queries... 1. I have assumed 1:80 with some castrol TTS is about right and 2. My clutch is not disengaging the engine cleanly...with engine running it CLUNKS into first and starts moving or stalls if you brake, even with the clutch in! Difficult to then find neutral of course... hopefully its a matter of adjustment rather than replacement....but what needs adjusting... and in or out!!! plenty of fluid in the resovoir. Any help appreciated Mark

Hi, I'm on the Isle of Thanet (as far East as you can get). Got a Gasgas EC300 that I used once for an Enduro (and lived to tell the tale). Now only green laning and slow club events as I broke my wrist and can't put up with doing it again. Also a box of bits that will make up a V5'd BSA B40WD (Green army machine). Engine is on its way to being a runner. The frame and ancilliaries I want to lighten for green lane use and club events. Can anyone who has 'Trailified' a B40 please get in touch and advise about the use of original rear wheel V Tiger cub rear (I want to fit 18" trials tyres front and back. Also other mods considering I want to retain frame as best as possible …

Hi there Just starting to look at trials bikes with a view to doing a few events and generally playing about. Been riding enduro's for 3 years or so and have always fancied a shot at trials. There are also a lot more events closer to where I live compared to enduro. Currently in the market for a bike and if anyone has one or a suggestion as to what would be a good beginners bike then let me know. Cheers for now. Stu

Hi Just started to look at trials bikes for my sons (age 5 +7) so any advice on what to get and where to go in Tesside area will be great. Have done Enduro's before so bikes are not alien to me but trials bike are all new so i guess i will be looking at 2x 50cc autos but what's the best for them? Not really wanting to enter comps but just want to have fun with the kids and give them something to focus on instead running round the streets. And i might even have to get one myself so any ideas on what bikes are good for a 6ft4" 15 stone as well. Cheers Marty.

Hello All, I've just come over to trials after riding supermotos and the last year has been on an enduro bike (KTM300EXC). I've come over after I keep bashing myself up a bit on the dirt and I'm hoping that trials will provide the spills at much lower speeds (although I have broken my leg with a 10mph get-off in the past! ) I've just picked up an '06 Beta 270 Rev3 and I'll be out later on it for the 1st time. I'll be looking for tips and hints and this forum seems the ideal place to start. see you Shaun.

Hello all returning to trials after a 25 year break i didnt mean it to be so long but you know how life gets in the way spent the past 15years mountain biking,but now fancy a change browsing the web for info for the past few months for info (even bought a copy of T&MX news ..i remember when the first edition came out...) seems to have been some major changes what im after is some info on what kinda bike i should be looking for i know this is a very subjective issue but some general pointers would be great im over 40 ,12st and reasonable fit but i dont want anything to heavy, but not so light i'll bust it (in my younger days i had a bultaco sherpa 250 …

Hello I have been taking part in Bognor trials events first on my 1983 air cooled JCM 323 and then on my Beta zero 260. Have had a lot of fun on both bikes. This year I entered the BOGNOR REGIS Blue Beards trial for the over 40s. The venue was held at Tullecombe woods Rogate over one hundred people entered. I enter club events as a begginer adult which is the green route which for me i find Challenging. The event was 15 sections and two rounds the section I would rate as being yellow the next one up at our club so for me it was very Challenging but I had such a grate time and will enter next year thanks to all at the Bognor trials club.
