Just purchased my son a Beta Evo 125 and I now have a Jotagas 300, booked in at Hut Hill this weekend to ride for the first time, cant wait!!

  5. Started by Big rich,

Ow do the names rich I'm 28 and from wakey, just wanted to say hello to the forum. Been out of the biking scene for a while due to work and family commitments but I've scraped together 2k and I am currently seeking a decent starter bike for a novice rider. My first bike way back when I was 11, was a Yamaha Ty 250 and even though it was far too big and powerful for me I had many years of fun on it . It was also by far the most reliable bike I've ever owned. Since then I've owned a few motocross bikes (all Honda ) all of which were very fun, they also cost me a bob or two in maintanance and repair . So anyway decided to go back to my roots of trials and I'm very excit…

Hi there, Having grown up in the Yorkshire Dales and had a mis-spent youth on TY80s and Bultaco Sherpas, I've decided to get back on a trials bike. Bought myself a Beta Techno Dougie Replica ('97) last year and thoroughly enjoying riding it. (I know, it's a bit heavy, but then so am I!) My sons have been watching and want to get involved, so I've just bought them a '07 Beta 80 for Christmas (shhhh...they don't know yet!). I'm based between Cheltenham and Worcester and I'm thinking about doing the odd trials now and then to see if I've still got it in me. So if you're in the area (Upton-Upon-Severn, Tewkesbury, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Worcester etc..) and know of some g…

Hello everybody, new member here. Located North Derbyshire, England. Not far from Hawks Nest. Am busy restoring the 325 Sherpa I could not afford when I was young(er). I got one about 3 years ago in several boxes and 1 bucket which contained the crank, and a gallon of ...........water. But hey, the barrel was rebored and was complete with new piston and rings. This is going to be easy, isn't it?? Anyway, usual story, work and sleep get in the way and it's taken til now to get on with it. Got the engine together with all new bearings, seals and said rebore. A bit of a job as I'm more used to Jap bikes with circlips and the like to locate bearings not a blowlamp and …

Hi to all So, I've decided to give trials ago. It's something I've been toying with for sometime and as a friend has recently bought a bike my minds made up! I've been riding bikes on and off since I was about 8. Trial, Enduro, motocross and a little bit on the road. Also been into quads, karts, jet skis, basically anything with an engine. So, I need to make a purchase and get myself a bike......... my dilemma now is what bike to buy. Do I start off with something cheap and older, or am I going to notice the benefit as a trials novice if I go for something newer. I've been having a look around and have found a few quite varied bikes that have caught my eye. 2004 Sh…

Hi to all, Yes another aussie trying to relive his youth. Been many a year since on a bike and I have recently acquired a ty 250 mono to polish my trials skills with. I'm expecting the usual bumps and scrapes but hopefully nothing too serious. Hope to run across some of you at some events soon. Peter

Thought I`d better say hello , and give some very brief history. Names Liam Never rode Trials properly, used to have a TY250 when I was 19....a few years ago, 37 now. Decided to buy another bike...got a gas gas 280....and...oh my don`t they pull well and how the hell do you guys manage to do the things you do and make it look so easy. Anyway got a few simple questions, with the influx of lovely baseball cap wearing lads riding motoX on the streets.....its seems the police have took a major dislike to anything thats not on the road. With that in mind, where can people practice without fear of arrest (based in Stoke-on-Trent) And what do you have to do/have to take pa…

Have just purchased a TL 250 1975 Model after looking for over 8 years , I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any difference between the 75 & 76 apart from the colour of the side cover decals (on the 75 they are Red & Orange and the 76 they are just Orange) any info on TL's would be much appreciated, also as I will be restoring this bike slowly does anyone know if you can do anything to bring the alloy cases of the engine back to shiny again, I have been told of using a very light wire brush on a drill to buff them but am not sure ..... Cheers rock1

Hello All, I'm A forty something bloke from near Burnley in Lancashire. Although I've had bikes from the age of 16, trials has never been my thing ( I'm currently doing a bit of road racing) However, my 11 year old son has been pestering me for a bike lately, so I've bought him a TY80. He's had a couple of lessons at Bumpy so he's ready to progress once we find a suitable local venue. I think this may be my last season road racing so I may end up buying a trials bike myself soon so we can ride together. I'm sure to have loads of questions, so please be gentle with me... Cheers Brad
