hi everone, have decided to get back into trials after 15 year break, i used to ride with the kent youth and then erith and district before joining the army sort off forced the sale off my 94 ty 250, moved into the sports bike scene whilst serving and loved every minute as was based in germany, not so fun coming back to uk speed cameras, jobsworth coppers, third world roads ect ect... So thought i'd pick up where i left off and luckily enough my dad donated me his 03 sherco 290 as he's not as young as he used to be and has decided to hang up his trials boots, I was suprised (although should'nt have been) that i'm not the aspiring dougie lampkin that i once thought i wa…

Hello from Cornwall, I am a failed Trials rider originally From Derbyshire, rode without much success in the early 60`s always had bikes? and moved to Cornwall in 1971 now due to age? spend more time messing about in the garage/ currently attempting to make a C15T based trail bike and putting back together a C15T trials bike, I still ride but prefer sunny days. Brian.

  3. Hello! Could people give me some pointers... probably asked hundreds of times, but is there any websites were you can find the local surrounding clubs and places to ride? I do alot of mountain bike races and fancied do this on the side, probably not competively but more plod around having fun etc.... Last thing, my old man has a old(1998-2000) Montesa 250cc, i'm looking to get my own but I have no idea what to look for size wize... beginner and about 85kg... I'm sure there's nothing between the brands, just deciding what cc and age to go for...ideally not a raggered old one... Thanks!

Hi guys. Im 31 years old and am a game ranger in SA. Ive been riding bikes since I was 5, mx, enduro and classic gp and about 3 weeks ago I decided to learn how to ride a bike properly. I swopped my 06 kdx200 for a 07 Beta rev 3 270. Im loving it so far and I think my other riding has helped buy I have tons to learn and look forward to good advice. My pops just bought a factory beta 300 2013 model, he has the bucks , I dont . This will be the first bike category where we compete together. Anyway, hi to all.

Hey ! First post here, new owner of a Montesa 4ride... My previous bike was a Tenere 660 - talk about change compared to a trial bike. So here are a few findings and pieces of information that others might find helpful - or dumb :) (long post !) First - why did I sold the Tenere ? car drivers where I live now are savages, some can't stand being overtaken by motorcycle riders and will do dangerous maneuvers on purpose, while others have a bad habit of overtaking other cars in curves with zero visibility (Russian Roulette style - go figure). roads suck - sand, stones, potholes, detritus, cars parked or people walking in curves, and whatnot.…

Long time lurker, first time poster. Picked up a nice 2002 Sherco 290 and am going through the rear linkage and swingarm bearings for replacement. Will change all the fluids and get the bike tip top shape for some balance training. I ride enduro and trails on a 2012 KTM 350exc. Hoping the trials bike will help with standing up and balance on the KTM as I'm lazy and find I sit way too much. I am located in the middle of the US in Champaign,IL and see most on here are in Europe, small world eh! I have spent many hours reading through the Sherco posts and have found a lot of good information here. I hope to be able to contribute to the knowledge base to help other new…

  10. Hi Guys, I have been riding Enduro for the past 20 years. I've always wanted to do some cross training with trials, but never got around to getting a trials bike to play with. my current Enduro ride is a Beta 300rr, and I'm picking up a Beta Rev3 (2002) this weekend as my entry into the trials world. I live in an area on NJ where the terrain really lends itself to trials, in fact most of our single track trails are better suited for a trials bike than a full on Enduro bike and that's the way we like it! I've been watching the video Barry Morris has been putting out and it really lit the fire for me to get started (crosstrainingenduro.com).....so of course I…

Hi everyone. Say hi to probably the heaviest trials rider in the country lol. I got myself one of these trials bike things, due to my mate badgering to get one . And ride it instead of my road bike through the winter. Best decision I've made in years .I must say it don't half knacker you out riding one. Anyway roll on the next trial. Tho I must learn to stop chucking the bike all over the place, otherwise it's gonna become an expensive hobby. TTFN Leigh

Hi all It has been a while since I rode and I am badly in need of some practice! The places I used to go to about 15 yr ago, Tholty, Glen Lough, Dhoon Quarry etc all seem to be no go areas now and I think that Laxey mines may be off as well due to it being on DAFF land? Any manxies know where it is OK to ride now? Kind regards Brokeback [/size]

Hello all! I was an avid trials rider beginning in the early 1970s, and had MANY different trials motorcycles. Some brands were Ossa, Bultaco ( 3 Sherpa Ts), Greeves ( my first one), D.O.T., Saracen, and I am certain there were a few others in the mix. I rode enduros, motocross, and flat track as well. I still avidly ride road bikes, and collect and restore vintage bikes. But it was time to go back to my roots, and I purchased a 2012 Sherco 2.9. Tremendous difference between the 1970s era trials bikes and the modern ones. I have a lot of catching up to do, but love the sport and am a good listener and fast learner. Now if someone will only tell me how to change the cra…
