Hello fellow trials riders! Decided to expand my small world at advrider in the Trials (where does my ass go?) section to do more than read posts on this excellent Trials Central forum. So hello, all. I love trials bikes and riding and especially the technical/engineering side. I reside in Oklahoma, USA on our Buffalo Dream Ranch. I've retired from design engineering and manufacturing, and now do cows, chickens, vacation rentals, wilderness property hiking tours, trials, and rider training. I am very fortunate to have many acres of fantastic trials terrain right out my back door, and fertilized by Belted Galloway cow pies. Getting humbled trying t…

Hi All, I'm in a little place on the SE tip of the Australian mainland, called Mirboo North. 2 mins from the forest, with a big hill in the backyard. Been riding since 7, growing up on a NZ Sheep Farm. I'm a trials virgin, but always wanted to have a go at it, after watching the next door neighbor ride over a 44 gallon drum on a TL125. We used them for mustering. Past bikes i've had, have been an Yamaha Mx80, XL100, XR200, RD250LC, GPZ900R. Currently i'm riding a 06 DRZS set up for Dual Sporting and the latest is a, Beta Rev3, the the best thing i've ever ridden. I think it was the quickest I have ever fallen in love with a bike. I reckon I was fishing for my depo…

Hi guys , new rider here , just got myself a beta techno 250 to learn on , was a bit of a barn find really , hadn't been run in 5 years , I picked it up Saturday morn and by lunchtime it was running . Result . Still a few bits I've gotta do to freshen it up but all in all I'm very happy . Can anyone recommend a deent bike mechanic localish to Bedfordshire ? I'm gonna do as much as I can myself but suspension and engine internals I'd rather out source . Well that's where I'm at at the mo guys , if anyone local to beds wants to hook up and ride that would be cool and look forward to hearing from you .

Hi, I have what I believe to be a Honda TL180 in bits, does anybody know anything about these bikes in their original condition? I want to restore the bike but am struggling to find information/pictures about the bike. When did Honda produce the TL180's? Is the TL180 engine anything to do with the XL185 engine? Would appreciate any feedback or pics. Thanks

Hello everyone, I'm new to the Forums and I'm returning to trials after a very long break! I'm now 48 yrs old and have not been back on a trials bike, until recently, since 1976 when I enjoyed riding a Montesa 348. I rode flat track (short track) here in the states for a few years before moving over to Motocross and Trail Riding and then along came the children. When they started riding Motocross through out their youth, it kept me quite busy keeping up with them and their bikes. I kept riding trails through the backwoods during this time but I missed my first love,,,,TRIALS. I guess they say you are never to old to relive your past and chase your first passion...I…

Hi newby to trials and have just purchased a 97 Beta Techno Dougie Lampkin. Been riding road and trail bikes for a while now and wanted to refine my enduro balancing skill set. Im not a 2 smoke expert so this will be challenging adaptation to different power delivery etc. Looking forward to this and have a million questions to ask from suspension setting for a 83kg guy to what is the prefered oil fuel mix, gear oil, chain and sprocket combo, or do i just shut up and ride it....thanks if you have read this far.. toodle pip.

Hello, I'm from Brecon and have wanted a Trials bike from the age of 13. (I'm now 45). Great forum by the way, have been having a look through for a while, but only just joined. I'm looking for a mint Monoshock Bike 85/86 and the 2 I desire the most - a Fantic or Yamaha TY. I'm looking for advice as which would be the best to get and have a budget of 2k Plus- ish for the right bike, but it has to look pretty much like new so looking for a restored model which is also mechanically running well. So which would you consider the best, a Fantic or a Yamaha TY? Bearing in Mind it will not get used much and won't be trialled but more likely used just in fields and take…

Hi All I am new to trials after not riding for 25 years, I am looking at buying a bike and people I have spoken to are saying bikes are overpriced at the moment due to Covid. What are your thoughts? Should I wait to buy a bike and are the prices higher than usual? Many thanks.

Greetings from the frozen North. Have looked at this site many times and never took the time to register, daft really as there's a lot of very interesting forums to take part in. Currently falling off a 280 pro and would like to hear from everyone but if I can find someone local to annoy that would be better ! I'm stuck in the middle of Bon Accord and Inverness clubs and have yet to decide which direction to head. Any suggestions ? I have about an acre of field with a few 'obstacles' and (easy) sections in it but it's obviously better to broaden ones horizons if anyone local'ish' has some land to practice on. Visitors to my 'ranch' are always welcome if they fancy a d…
