Hey guys, Well im from wrexham in north wales, been riding motorcross most of my life, but it has come to a point where id like to follow my passion. I've always wanted a trials bike but it men't going it alone, as all my friends ride motorcross too.. So im hoping you guys can give me some good tips and advice on buying my first bike. Im really unsure of what make and engine size to go for?.. Im not really a person to go in to competitions so this bike is going to be for learning and fun on the weekends. I've looked at a gas gas txt pro 200 and a beta rev3 250 so far. I've read a lot on the internet and ive been seeing people say gas gas weren't very good and something…

Alright all, thought I would pop in and say hello. From Halifax, have a couple of triallies and some others, a scorpa 250 from the late 90's (I think!), and a montesa cota 349. On the road I have suzuki SV650, GSXR750, Yam RD400, cagiva planet. I need a bigger garage TBH! I will be looking to turn up at some meets (when my bikes are in reasonable health!), but I have the slight hindrance of no cage license. So am limited to local stuff... Cheers Chris

Figure I had better introduce myself. My name is Kevin, and live in Fife, Scotland. I'm in my 40's and decided to start trialling with a few of my workmates. Dug in and bought me a Beta 290 2010 EVO, and all the new kit. ( I'm like action man - an outfit for every eventuality) Anyhow did my first trial on Sunday and got a few cleans on the "b" route. So well chuffed. Anyone with helpfull hints / tips / places to ride local etc much appreciated. Kev

  6. Hello everyone, thank god i've found what looks to be a good forum! No better place to learn in the beginning I'm a former bike trials rider, when i rode for about 5 or 6 years from 2000. Ended up riding for Monty/Cleanbikes, Plazmatic and Heatsinkbikes.com, so i may well know some of you guys??? I'm on www.Trials-forum.co.uk as Bongo too. I ended up getting into bmx, which took over my life, and i rode bmx until a series of knee injuries put an end to that, and during my recovery from some operations, i bought a road bike, which soon put me onto the track, and for the last couple of years i've raced a Honda CBR600rr in the Hottrax National 600 endurance, and severa…

G'day! Moved from Cheshire to Australia back in '99. I've been an avid motorsports fan since the olden days. My first ever event was the 'Gold Cup' at Oulton Park, back in 1971. Since then, I have been involved in all sorts of competition as a spectator, marshal, competitor (four wheels), journalist and photographer. I am also a bike nut, albeit road bikes only and recently had to give 'em up due to arthritis. Ain't growing old grand? I maintain some involvement as a photographer, most recently of motorcycle trials, a sport I had never watched till last year. I was immediately hooked. The thing I like most about trials, as a photographer, is the people involved. What…

  11. Started by lardarse,

Good afternoon all. I used to compete in schoolboy trials in the late 70's and early 80's, I was that good, my Dad always said I was the strongest rider in the trial, I was dead chuffed until I realised that he meant I supported all the riders above me in the results list! I was pants at it, but loved it all the same. I rode with Andy Cross, Tony Sedgwick and Guy Winder, we were all members of Westmorland MCC. I used to mate about and go to school with Lance and Julian Ingham, James Cotton and Sean Green. Part of the extended friends we made through trials were Brian Houghton ( in Australia now I believe?) and the late, but great, Kevin Bleasdale. I have moved away fro…

Hello everybody, I'm Marc, frenchi (sorry for my bad english), I play solo and sidecar trial. My next project is "triying to develop an efficient and simple side car trial based on my FANTIC 240 prof". Sure I know that 212cc engine will be short to push all together (the motobike, my monkey and me) at the top of high section hills, and I can sacrifying the monkey of course..., but I know that some of you find some other ways to improve their Fantic 240... If you are ok to guide me for my project... Many thanks! Marc

  19. Started by beerman,

Well I finally did it. Went and got my first real trials bike. Had a Honda Reflex for a few years but got a used Fantic Section (ast least I think it is). Now if I can just determine exactly what year and model it is. The problem I am having whith it is an electrical issue. No spark. Is there anyway I can determine what exactly is giving me fits? From what I understand the bike had gotten fairly hot and wouldn't start anymore. It still has good compression and there's no signs of seizing. I can't seem to find anything on this bike and sure could use a mnual for it. Anyplace in the US that I can go to for parts? Mike
