I broke the bottom of the lower fork on my Montesa rebuild. ChatGPT told me to hammer down....the forks come up.... I should have realized but didn't. I heard about welding but I think here in Alberta, CA it would be very expensive and no warranty or guarantee. I see exact parts on ebay in the US that look almost new. They look too good to be true but I assume I could rebuild the forks with new seals... Or is it best to try to get an entire fork - upper and lower? The old shocks seemed to be functional 25 years later. Any recommendations would be great.

Hi Everyone, As the title states i am new to the site and after some info regarding getting started, local clubs / Contacts / places to ride etc etc. im currently looking at purchasing a Cota 247 and wondered if anyone has any info on them etc also. Hi everyone , my name is Dave and i have been into trials for the past 2 years, i currently have a 2020 beta evo 4t factory. I was hoping to get some advice on if advertising parts im making is allowed ? I ask because ive started making fork seal guards for different bikes and i need somewhere better than facebook to advertise. I've attatched a photo of the part but dont want to spam the forum trying to sell them obviously.

I have done Moto X, and a bit of trials many years ago(had a go at Poaching inbetween Blackwood and New-Tredegar years and years ago). Not got any bikes as of yet, wanted to try and get the son enthusiastic by taking him to some events and maybe doing some marshaling etc. before i splash out to find out he's lost interest. Hi all. Grew up riding trials bikes in my youth (Bultaco Sherpa's/Montesa Cota's), before moving onto road bikes. Currently run a 1996 Yamaha GTS 1000 on the road, and bought a road registered 1998 Gas Gas TX270 last week. Plan was to scoot about various quiet brown field industrial sites around the East End of Glasgow, departing before I attract any attention, however will likely contact the Bob McGreggor academy having found them on the net. Greetings all: I just joined, just picked up a GasGas 200 last night, and I am ready to ride! I rode a '77 Cota 123 back when it was new, and and haven't been motorcycling at all since 1980. Long story; my dad was working with the west coast Montesa distribution in the states, Martin Belair worked there and introduced me to the sport. Hello I've spent many hours enjoying reading posts until my eyes are like p*** holes in snow... I grew up in Yorkshire riding Bultos and Ossas. I explained to my wife that I grew up riding with the Lampkins (I think I saw a couple of them across a wet field, 400 yds away...?) and it is my right to start riding trials after a brief lay-off, 42 years to be precise. I live in Hertfordshire these days. I've bought an '85 TLR200 thinking I'd ride twin-shock events and restore the bike and improve at the same time. Hello every one. I have been registered for a while now, but I never fully explored the Forum sections. Very nice to find manufacturer specific postings. I have several vintage trials bikes. A 1975 Suzuki RL250 which I purchased new. Also a 1975 Honda TL250 that I received from my cousin, who was the original owner of that. I didn't restore them but did "recondition" them. I presently also have a 2008 Honda CRF150F which I bought because my knee does not like the kick starter. At the present time I am working on restoring my son's 1977 Yamaha TY250. Gidday, as you can probably tell I`m from sunny Australia, Ipswich in south east Queensland. I own and ride a strange Bultaco 199b. It has a 151 motor in it with a M92 barrel on it,moved forward shocks,an aluminium airbox and silencer and an aluminium head stay and it had disc brakes on it but I changed them to ride twinshock on it. The original engine is in a monoshock frame that the bloke who used to own it in the 1980`s made. I started riding trials again in late 2007 after not riding anything for 20 odd years. Have been lurking on the site for a while and thought it was time to post. I ride a KT 250 Kawasaki in vintage trials and have done so since about 1998 off and on. I try to ride a lot of different events in different orgs. This year rode some MOTA events and the NATC round in Sept in Dickson,TN. I usually ride in OH at VMD but took a yr off so the AMA could get it's act together. I will be back there next year, plus plan to run some TI events in the midwest. I also ride dualsport on a Suz DRZ400 and some of you know me as buls4evr on advrider site. I live in New Mexico in the Jan-May months each year as I hate winter weather so will be leaving soon. Hi, Just a brief hello from me, Brian. I'm from near Dorchester, Dorset, and ride an ageing BMW K100RS on the road. I've been thinking about replacing it with something smaller and lighter 'cos at 61 going on 62 it is getting a bit heavy. Used to follow trials as a youngster back in the mid-late 60's so may get something for a bit of Green Laneing. Hello All. First of all thank you to everyone who posts here. I have found it to be a great source of information. I recently purchased a 2004 Sherco 290. I have ridden several dirtbike over the past 10 years and I think trials is going to be right up my alley. I have some acreage to ride on that is pretty challenging on my motocross bike so I should be able to spend countless hours riding the trials in my own back yard. Challenges include (a pretty steep hill climb from the creek, banks berms, fallen trees, pond banks, creek bed, rocks, mud, grass, little bit of everything). The only thing I lack is large rocks. Which is ok I probably won't be ready for that kind…
