Hi All, New to Trials and the whole off road thing to be honest, got hooked after an off road try out day run by another forum i use. Had the last few years riding on track, after getting fed up of nearly being killed riding on the road. Anyway, big accident this year, resulting in 2 breaks to my pelvis and 1 to my back, and its time to slow down for a while so thought trials was the ideal thing to get my bike fix and get me fit at the same time! So far......I love it!! Can't get enough in fact and just want to build on my skill level....or lack of it should i say!! Hi guys and gals who competed in the trial at Church Stretton today, hope you all got back to your vans with your bikes. for those reading this the police were in the area of the trial today checking the legality of riders machines and confiscating those not legal, ready for the crusher I guess. Something for all riders to think about with the police having the power to take away your machine!!! May be its time to move away from road trials to private land events for british sidecar champs rounds then we would not have to put our bikes in the vans to go each group.

Hello from West central Missouri. Older guy..I'm 62 years old. Retired , and on fixed income. Social security. Been saving up for the last few years. Saved up 1500.00$ Been wanting a bike to ride. I do have a large yard here on the old farm. Then I see a video of a trials bike. I like the go slow part. But anyhoo.. there's not much to pick from around here. Got on the web. Asking about a used bike.. 125cc ? Nothing. But I was absolutely shocked to find out what a new trials bike costs. Ten thousand dollars.. that completely blows me out of the water. Hello, As a recycled teenager at 59yrs I have plunged back into trials bike ownership after 20yrs away. My last bikes were 1967 Bultaco Sherpa (DLG 49F I wonder if it still exists?),1974 Bultaco 350 Sherpa ( on a Q plate) and a Yamaha TY175 special ( ex Steve Goode from Welshpool) So Yesterday I purchased off EBAY a VERY nice 1976 Malcom Rathmell 348 Replica with lots of recent restoration work. Hi there. I am a greybeard from Malmoe in southern Sweden. This year I returned to trials after more than 20 years! I bought a Beta Rev3 270 (2000 model) in May this year an since then I have changed bike twice! I sold the Beta to a friend and got me a Sherco 2,9 (2003 model) and of course another friend bought that one from me a couple of weeks later! So now I own a Sherco 2,9 Cabestany Replica (2007). This bike is truly amazing so I think I will keep it for at least a couple of weeks more...... Anyway, I am glad that I am back on a trialsbike again after all these years. Nearly new as in not yet new, rather than new a little while ago! Very keen, but I don't know a lot, and I've got couple of hurdles to overcome. I've always liked the idea of trials, particularly the long distance stuff. I've had a couple of crappy little road bikes before, been on a MX day, and been mountain biking for years, so hopefully I'll have some transferable skills, and a bit of muscle and fitness in some of the right places! Well I finally did it. Went and got my first real trials bike. Had a Honda Reflex for a few years but got a used Fantic Section (ast least I think it is). Now if I can just determine exactly what year and model it is. The problem I am having whith it is an electrical issue. No spark. Is there anyway I can determine what exactly is giving me fits? From what I understand the bike had gotten fairly hot and wouldn't start anymore. It still has good compression and there's no signs of seizing. I can't seem to find anything on this bike and sure could use a mnual for it. Anyplace in the US that I can go to for parts? Mike

Hello all. Last year I rode dirt for the first time after having ridden road bikes and really got the bug. Mostly just greenlaning but I had so much fun and learned so much. I really enjoyed the change of pace and different challenges coming from a sportbike. Later that year I sold my dirtbike and regretted it. I've done all kinds of two-wheeled antics and owning a trials bike has been a dream since I was 10. I'm a touch over 30 now and hoping previous injuries dont keep me from enjoying myself. I'm driving to TN. friday to pick up an 04 280 Pro from a friend. I cant even describe my excitement! I've been around two greats of the sport and many occasions during streetbike competitions and shows and it's an amazing sport just as a spectator alone. Chris Pfiefer being one and Geoff Aaron being the other. And they attack ANYTHING you can point to! Friday cant come fast enough..... And hopefully I can find some places to ride around here... Good morning everyone from Rossendale Lancashire. Decided to sign up to the site rather than just a guest browser, well I will get straight to the point. I would like to have my 1983 coat 349 (y reg) be treated to a full engine overhaul, no major dramas at the moment but I think the mains are just starting to become a touch noisy. Where can I purchase these along with the related seals,gaskets and other bearings etc preferably all from one supplier. Part two now! I would like to invest in a RTL 250 twin disc model, but don't have a great deal of knowledge of them .There's a couple on that other site for £5500 ish ,is that a fair reflection? Hi guys , I'm looking to dipping my toes into trials .. I've always had Mx/Enduro bikes , currently got a TM racing en 250 , but never owned a trials bike before .. I'm only looking to spend around £2000 , for that price what bike would you guys recommend ? Are there any bikes that are noticeably better or worse than the rest ? Any input will be very much appreciated

Hi, at the age of 65 I am wanting to have a go at trials (only the begginer sections I expect) having a bit of a dodgy back I want the lightest bike that my tall frame will allow. As it will be the easy sections I doubt that power will be an issue and have been looking at 125 cc but I was wondering if an adult could ride the beta senior big wheel 80 cc. I am guessing this would be very light ?? Best regards David

Hi everyone. I'm totally new to trials, and to fourms! . I just bought a 2007 rev 250 4-stroke. All I could afford at the moment. I'm just wondering where would be the best place to source parts? I can't seem to find anything on line. Every search seems to throw up parts for the 2504t RR )which I assume is a beta enduro bike)? Or the 2stroke trials, but not the 4stroke. I want to service it and do fork seals and replace a few bits etc. Thanks in advance Noel.

How do I know if the yamaha is a majestic with a gooden frame. I picked 8 bikes up from a guy and don't know much about them or what they are worth. Yamaha 250. Honda Elsinore 250. Butaco 250. Honda tl 250. And a couple others any help would be appreciated. In Birmingham Al US

Hi all, I've only been riding bikes about 2 months, started by sharing my friends Montesa Cota 315R(97) and have recently bought myself a Gas Gas JTX 270(97), so far have managed to get out for 1 days worth of riding which was really good and to be honest I do prefer my my bike as I'm 6'2" and the handle bars seem to be a little further away and unlike the Montesa I don't feel like I'm going to go over the handle bars everytime I brake hard. The biggest problem I'm having is trying to get good info on the type of oil I should use in the gearbox/transmission, someone where I went trials biking had the 250cc version of my bike and they said to use 10w 40 but on Gas Gas web…

Howdy Gang! I just read Judson's intro here, so it seems I'm not the only new rider along the Front Range. I live near Laramie, just across the state line from Fort Collins. I'm an absolute newbie to trials, and I have yet to attend an event. My introduction to trials was, lets say, rough. A wonderful couple, Will and Jen, from Woodland park brought a couple trials bikes to a weekend gathering of adventure riders in the forest near Buena Vista, Colorado.
