Hello all, I have just bought a 2009 Beta 250 two stroke (with the updated frame). Never had a trials iron before, but not new to off roading, having raced moto-x, enduros etc back in the day. Kind of bought the bike for a bit of fun, and possibly some competition. I belive the Dunfermline club is fairly active, and is local to me. Anyway, just saying hello before hitting you with a load of newbie questions...

Hi all I'm new here and I am looking for some advice on what bike to get and where to start competitions? I have MX experience but I feel there are more events for Trials is that correct? Basically I'm training to be a stunt man and I need to have experience in 20 motorcycle competitions. Thanks in advance for any advice 😎 **Edit - my location is Hertfordshire

Hi All! I'm very glad to have found this forum I've tried my hand at a "fun" trial with Mortimer Classic MCC 2 weeks ago, on a KTM 300 EXC, and despite being on the wrong machinery I have never enjoyed myself on a motorcycle so much! 😄 So much so, that I ended up selling one of my other bikes to find the funds for a Gas Gas TXT 250. I'm now in the process of finding more opportunities to ride the GG, so that I can get out of the house and have some fun on the weekends. I'm based between Reading and Basingstoke. Any recommendations for clubs that allow practice trials in the South of England? Many thanks! Michel

Hello every one. I have been registered for a while now, but I never fully explored the Forum sections. Very nice to find manufacturer specific postings. I have several vintage trials bikes. A 1975 Suzuki RL250 which I purchased new. Also a 1975 Honda TL250 that I received from my cousin, who was the original owner of that. I didn't restore them but did "recondition" them. I presently also have a 2008 Honda CRF150F which I bought because my knee does not like the kick starter. At the present time I am working on restoring my son's 1977 Yamaha TY250. He wants to "restore" not just paint it and make it look pretty. I will be more than likely looking in here for help and …

Hello everyone out there in trials world. My name is Robby and I used to do trials back in the late 60s early 70s at my local meetings at Buxton, Matlock and Leak etc. I was never brilliant but loved every Sunday when trialing, I used to ride a mclaren suzuki, I wish I still had it now, I found it very light and easy to ride. I am in the process of restoring a Bultaco 250, it's a bit of a miss match but all there, I would like to thank Pete at in motion trials for all his excellent help and advise on my project, his service and aftersales is second to none.

Hi I'm a new member of this forum. I'm from near Stamford bridge on A66 and my son's and I fancy trying trial's riding. I'm a bit old really but my youngest is 12. I understand he would only be able to ride a 125 if doing any proper ACU trials but he needs to learn bike control firstly. He has risen auto bikes so far. So we are looking for starter 125 bike and maybe a 2 bike trailer. My son wants some size 6 boots if anyone has grown out of theirs and somewhere to go practicing. We hope to join Scarborough MC once we have some SH bikes but could do with somewhere closer to York really?

Helloo, I've just bough a Gasgas 125 (2009) off ebay and I cant get the thing to start. During purchase it wouldn't start either but im confident that, in a few months, with your help, it'll fire up!! Here is what I know: bike looks good, its got a carburettor and a spark plug. compression seems fine. There is fuel in the tank. It's been left for a while unused. Ill try to add some pics - Please could any one give me some simple tips. Somewhere to start in terms of getting this thing started. So far I have mainly tried: full choke. half/full throttle, kicking the hell oot of it till I'm knackered.

I am currently trying to build a Beta 270 Rev 3 from a box of bits. Alternator fitted to the bike is 6 pole. I do not have the matching CDI unit. In the box is a complete Lionelli CDI/coil system. Can anyone advise me if it is possible to adapt one to the other. I can supply wiring details for the parts in question

Hi Guys, Been signed up for over a year but not made a post, so thought I should say hi. I have just taken delivery of a Montesa 4RT, not new, but good enough for me to get back into the sport. I previously owned another Montesa, a 315R and used to compete in local clubman trials. Something I plan to do again with my new to me 4RT.

Hello all Just wanted to introduce myself to one and all. Currently in the process of getting my 1994 Yamaha TYZ 250, which I've owned for 20 years, up and running again. It's not seen seen much action apart form the occasional start up for over 10years. If I can just clean up the Dave Cooper rack and get a tow bar fitted it may just turn a wheel again! Hoping to gleen a bit of information from other users along the way if I can? Regards

Hi All Well as the title says I told my Grandson Stan who is 7 that he could have a trials bike to use at Llangollen practice area. So Sunday I kept my word and after failing to find a suitable petrol model bought a used 2011/2012 Oset 16.0 which I hope gets him in the swing and if so a petrol model will probably follow. Already had to put a potentiometer on it as that was already broken, Although it still seems very little refinement in the throttle response, maybe even bordering on excessively harsh. I am now looking through here to see how to fit an emergency lanyard kill swich to this model, keep seeing fit to key but not electrically brilliant so will have to tr…

Hi All, recently bought from Spain a 213 Alpina. It is complete with toolbox, lights, etc... Good looking but needs attention. Exhaust was completely empty with metal bit moving inside, front tyre cracked, front spokes loose and seized, and speedo ring eaten up. I am in the process of fixing all that. I am on the learning curve... Here some views of the bike and the exhaust work done. Have a nice day,

Hi there, my name is Joachim, 52 Y and from Germany. Trials was a dream when I was a kid, now it is still a dream as I am a beginner in any way. Sometimes I just can't resist buying a bike, thinking it will run eventually. Newest one is a bultaco about 1970, first bike my age 😉 After spending some time on it I realise I am pretty clueless as there is not so much information easy to find as it is a Lobito 175 MK3 (think so!) Cleand the AMAL, polished some of the alloy, looks great, just like new, but no spark! I don't even now if I can easyly take of the flywheel and put it back on again without messing the whole timming up by moving it a bit... I think there sho…
