  4. I fully submerged my Beta 270 on the week-end, I have now got it up and running but find that kick starting it feels different. It springs back realy fierce like a cement mixer I am now scared to kick it over in fear of breaking my ankle. Is this a timing re-tard issue caused by the drowing of the bike when it was running. Thanks
  5. With the clutch plates removed for inspection and cleaning I pulled trhe clutch lever by accident while moving the bike. Now it seems that I do not have any clutch, what do I need to do to rectify this problem once I find the bloody ball bearing that fell out and rolled away. Thanks
  6. C'mon, some say it will be fine don't worry just clean the carb etc.....Others are informing me it's all over....WHAT ARE THE FACTS?????
  7. I have today dropped my bike in a river and it got fully submerged under the water it continued running under water for a couple of seconds gurgled and splutterd then stopped before I had the time to pick it up. I have since managed to start it after draining the exhaust, carbureter and air box but it now runs crap. I have changed the plug air filter and checked the reads they look o.k I am currently draining the gear box oil. What to do next??

    Beta Rev 3 Decals

Hi all, I have just bought some new Tank decals and do not have a clue how to attach them to tank. I have peeled off one side of the center tank sticker for a butchers but it does not seem sticky enough to attach to the tank. Some advice would be appriciated before I mess them up and have to buy a new set. Thanks

    Bloody Brakes!

Stork. I dont seem to be pulling any brake fluid into the master cylinder, is this right? I can not force fluid in it seems totally locked up. I thought that when you removed the m/c rod that the circuit would be open and that the fluid should be easily pushed through with a syringe, I can not get fluid into the system.

    Bloody Brakes!

]Help!! I lost my rear brake today, piston got stuck open. So took it apart and freed it off. But now I have the dreaded bleeding problem. I do not have any fluid being sucked in to the master cylinder there is just air coming out of the bleed nipple. I tried to do the syringe thing and tried to force fluid through the system by Disconnecting the rear brake reservoir pipe which goes to the master cylinder and conecting the syringe buy I can not push the fluid into the master cylinder, I can not get the fluid to flow from reservoir through the master cylinder and out of bleed nipple. Please help. Happy New Year.
  14. Thank you very much indeed.
  15. Once I have rectified my overheating issue on my Beta 270 (2005) I am going to have a look at my clutch plates etc. I have only owned the bike for 2 weeks and the previous owner did very little maintenance. The clutch is very temperamental, some times it drags and some times there is a false nutural between 4th and 5th. Has anyone got instruction with diagrams if possible of how to dis-assemble and asseble the clutch. Thanks
  16. Thanks for the quick replies. Can you tell me where I would find this switch and how to test if it is working. Thanks
  17. I can see various overheating solutions and a lot of good information posted, but I can not see anything that is related to my problem, so hear goes. I have just returned home after a 3 hour trail/Trial ride. Everything was going well until I had just completed a 10ft steep incline and as I reached the top there was an allmighty explosion of steam blowing off from my radiator cap. It is a real cold day and the fan has been coming in from time to time. the bike has ran well all day and am not sure where to start, I returned home from the ride and have since filled the radiator back up with water/anti-freeze mix. What do I need to check before my next ride? Any help will be appriciated. Thanks in advance Jeff
  18. Hi All I have just bought myself a 2003 gasgas TXT 250 and am looking forward to the world of trials riding. Any other new riders in the swales area please get in touch.
