Having now put a wes exhaust on, all I need now is the one piece tank seat unit and to put my new chain and sprogs on and job's a good un. I have just had the forks re chromed and put new levers on. Having read the thread about replacement front sprocket I am cautious about putting it on without a spacer - any more advice?
First trial was a couple of days after buying it, so it was a quick stripping off of the lights and battery (real easy to unclip) and putting on of new tyres. This is pic of bike in shop 18 months ago.
Cookie, it is just a mid eighties TL 125. They are the same as the reflex TLR 200 but have a 5 speed 125cc engine in them. I don't think they were ever available in Europe but a few are drifting in now from Japan.
Ay up our kid. Unable to travel next couple of weeks due to being busy. Have just had the forks re-chromed and cut out the bulky key ignition. I have also invested in slightly lower gearing and have a stainless (wes) exhaust which I will get around to fitting soon.
I have just used the universal type rear guard so as to preserve the original. I left it full length amd cut away sides to allow the seat brackets to go to thier locators. I then attached a plastic 'flap' under the seat that tucks behind the mudguard to double protect the air intake. (you can't see much because I haven't cut the helmet holder off yet!)
Bike looks very original apart from black mudguards. I assume it was a Jap import? The suspense for the after pics has built now so there is even more pressure to impress
Save your pics as jpegs and then upload them (alter image size to be under 250k though).
Hey you don't hang about do you? If you send me an e-mail with what you want for the TLR I will see what I can do. (Trying to beat Honda RS along the coast from Southampton might prove tricky though).

Any one know how many TLR's were made and how many need saving from this sort of thing? There seem to be batches of them coming to the UK from Japan but when will this dry up and the price really start to climb?
Does anyone know where I can get a tank seat unit for the TLR? Also, does anyone recommend getting my fork stanchions re-chromed (they are rust spotted) or should I try and find new ones?
mmmmm..guilty of not looking after the chain (I dont remember ever changing the oil either) ... I was a youngster.... I spent more time trail riding on the XT 500 I had at the time....
Heres a pic of me old bike. Taken in 1984 or 85. It was a little out dated then as I remember doing very badly at a trial in Pott Shrigley. My Brother had just bought a brand new TLR and proceeded to dent the tank in the first trial.
I notice the valve lifter is fitted but not connected and the rear shocks look knackered. I remember the frame was cracked under the head stock (and being told as a teenager that this was normal!)..
Any one else got some old pics.
Is that particular bike an RS then or a seely or a TLR? The frame looks wrong for a TLR and my old Seeley (bought in 1983 and sold in 1985 ....doh!) didn't have that air intake coblers going on.
