  1. Perfect. Thank you guys for your help!!!
  2. All the year models between say 02 and 08 which my bike falls into, have the same part number BUT it only lists them for the 150 and 200. So are the 250, 280 and 300 air filters the same as 15 and 200? I just want to be as sure as possible.... not trying to be a pain.
  3. I have an 04 280 pro. I discovered a tear in the air filter and when I went to order a new one the ONLY models listed were 150 and 200? Or something like that but NOT the 280!! I need to know if they are the same as the 280? I was under the impression that most parts surrounding the engines were the same throughout the different sizes but I'm a newb and could be very wrong. I want to ride this weekend and need to find out!!! Thanks in advance!!!!

    Oil Leek

I'm pretty sure it's from the clutch cover gasket. It only leaks when its running. I think the top/rear of the gasket is wrecked and when its running, the clutch slings oil and it gets out that way and runs to the bottom. Not confirmed but that what i'm thinking. I'm hunting a gasket now..... And someone around here that can tig to fix my mid-pipe...

    Oil Leek

After seeing this I was hoping this was the reason there was fluid in my skid plate. Unfortunately it wasn't.
  6. I'll remember that! Just not too sure about applying it yet....
  7. I had a feeling it was something like that. I'll be doing a lot of it....
  8. I cant wait and would definitely like to get involved in the beginner training. I'll be in touch for sure! I REALLY cant wait to get my bike... I'll probably just stare at it for a while.... And thank you for the links. That helps greatly!
  9. It's a weird story... I met a man at a gas station near work. He was driving an Isuzu rodeo/hona passport pulling a trailer with a trials bike on it. I stopped him and we talked briefly about my interest in trials. I gave him my card and he called a week later to check on my progress. This was two months ago and havent heard from him again. It was in the Fort Mill SC area. I remembered that he mentioned that he had to get his bike to the dealer so he left. Yesterday, in an effort to contact the man, I called the nearest shop in Concord and described the guy and Jim gave me Toms name. I found his number and talked to him today. He doesnt recall ever being in that area. Nor does he tow his bike on a trailer. So there is still a guy out there that I met at the station. BUT, Tom was still very excited to talk to me and we chatted for at least 20 mins in which he had invited me to his place to get some time in on the new unit. This, like many other motorcycle vunues, seems to be full of amazing people. Which is to me by far the best part. I'm in Charlotte, by the way and new to the area.
  10. Thanks for the welcome! And, yes, North Carolina. As far as these events go, this will be the first time ever on a trials bike. Although, with my experience on all other bikes, I believe I may be able to grasp it without too much difficulty. And with that kind of thinking, I'm surely going to be landing on my head quite a bit. I really cant wait.... I'd like to at least throw a leg over this thing before going to an event. There is a local gentleman here that has some things set up in his backyard and I think he is attending the event that youre talking about as well. I dont even have any sort of proper gear yet. Just street helmets and roadracing boots. The boots may suffice for now but I definitely need a helmet that provides better visibility. I may have to check out this event. I could watch trials anytime and never get sick of it! Also, as far as the lingo, I'm glad you gave me some pointers as I was a bit confused with some of the posts.... Whats a "dab"?
  11. I've done all kinds of two-wheeled antics and owning a trials bike has been a dream since I was 10. I'm a touch over 30 now and hoping previous injuries dont keep me from enjoying myself. I'm driving to TN. friday to pick up an 04 280 Pro from a friend. I cant even describe my excitement! I've been around two greats of the sport and many occasions during streetbike competitions and shows and it's an amazing sport just as a spectator alone. Chris Pfiefer being one and Geoff Aaron being the other. And they attack ANYTHING you can point to! Friday cant come fast enough..... And hopefully I can find some places to ride around here... Well, I'm off to read up on some tech stuff to help me get myself moving in the right direction. I will post pics after I pick it up. Cheers everyone!
