    Fully Synthetic

It is going to a good clean but I was wondering if runnin too a mix of fully synhetic could lead to bogging, because it only started when I changed. Looked around there and seen 80:1 as the proper mix for sul synt

    Fully Synthetic

Hi all Having a bit of a prob on the sherco. I was using normal 2 stroke oil for a couple of weeks after i got the bike but got good quality fully synthetic oil and since starting to use it my low revs are bad. Its like the idle jet is blocked. It will bog if you snap the throttle low down which it didnt do before. Pull the choke out and it runs better. I havnt whipped the carb out yet but question is can changing to fully synthetic or running the wrong mix give issues like bad low end. I mixed the fully synthetic at about 65 to one . . . too rich a mix??? Thanks
  3. am a competent enough road bike rider!but trials wise i just been pottering around on a 250 jtr gasser for the last while, getting the knack of it.but trials wise not much experience. I would have thought the 125's would be harder shifted. there are plenty sherco 125's around 04 for decent money round me. Havnt spotted any betas
  4. Looking at picking up a sherco or gasgas, butfinding it hard to get a decent deal on a 250/280, but there seems to be loads of 125s around at good money. Would a 125 be big enough or would you get bored on them quickly? Im around 5'10" and 160lbs i think. . . . would i need the bigger cc's? Cheers
  5. why oh why couldnt I have seen this before buying one for the gg during the summer!!!loked everywhere for a cheap replacement then fnally bit the bullet!
  6. will try this. seen alot of people on youtube do this way. cheers
  7. How do you steer the bike when on one wheel?peg weight or body weight?
  8. ha but i keep falling off to the side before i get a chance to work onthe front back bit!!!haha
  9. Yeah its more the starting from stop and up straight on the back wheel that it happens. I am trying the look ahead thing but is hard enough to get the hang of. I have lways thought against turning the handlebars because if it comes down quick and wheel is turned it could end nasty!!
  10. Hey all, Right just a quick one. I trust my back brake no problem and body position going back is fine but whenever I get the front wheel up pretty high on slow wheelie I find myself falling off to one side. . . on the road bike I lean out to one side but never works too well. . . whats the best way of steering a slow wheelie or stop it falling to one side??? weight on pegs?
  11. cheers for replies lads, I let you know how I get on anyway! I think its going to be a sherco for me anyway! Thanks
  12. no says it didnt seize, its still running like.
  13. Right, thats confirmed what I thought. Too old, looking for something newer than that. had copped the chain-sprockets and clutch lever but good spot on the oil on fork! At that confirmed it is def over priced.! Have another one I was looking at for around the grand € mark. . . What yous think? and anything particular to look out for?(apart from the above mentioned) good - bad points . its an 04 250. cheers
  14. really? i was thinking there was sumtin a bit suss with the black frame and old looking plastics and forks. . . def a 2000 model?
  15. Lookingfor a bit of info on the below. He doesnt know the exact year but says its 05-07. It has a black frane but doesnt look like any the other black frame shercos ive seen. . . any info? Its a 250 aswel. hes looing
  16. yeah had a look at a piston set, £150. . . fook that!!! Its a tough one to call its either go look at that or there is a 06 250 pretty close, just rebuilt, has black frame so thats the later model yes? would prob be the better option I think What ye think?
  17. Was looking at buying a 2007 290 Sherco, Its going cheap but he says it was ran for about 5 mins without coolant. It is starting first kick now. Whats the chances on it having seized after that long running without coolant? if I went to look at it and left it to heat up real well would it be safe to assume it not heat seized? Worst case scenario . . .piston and rings, head gasket and maybe a rebore. Anyone idea on approx proce on that parts wise?labour I can do myself. Cheers, appreciate any input
