    Beta evo. Why?

We just went from a 2006 270 Rev3 to a 2011 Evo 200. We're tryals noobs + it was our first experience with a LH kick lever. In fact we sold the 270 because it was such a bear to kick. The 200 is a dream to start, even for my 135# girlfriend. We found the technique in this video very helpful (even though it's a RH kicker). YMMV. Engine starting tips for Trials motorcycles Go for an Evo 200! Cheers, J
  2. FIXED IT! Spent some time setting up the bike today. Removed the lamps & wiring. When I got 'round to looking at the kickstand, I noticed the pivot bolt causes the auto-retract feature. Long story short, replacing the the pivot bolt with a shorter one was all it took to make the kickstand function normally, kick-down/kick-up. Cheers, Jrzy BTW - this bike ROCKS !!!!!
  3. Can anyone tell me how to defeat the auto-retracting kickstand on my 2011 Evo 200? I want to keep it, just make it kick down/kick up. I know it's gonna leave a mark if it isn't fixed. Thanks, Jrzy
  4. Very interesting! Who makes the low compression head? - J
  5. Thanks to all. Good tip to check the exhaust packing. I'm also considering adding the fly wheel weight. I'm a rank trials beginner & want to ease into this. I decided to take the motor to my local Beta dealer: Diehl
  6. Hello All, Where can i find a step-by-step guide to remove/replace the top-end of an '07 Rev3 270 in order to add an extra base gasket? A shop manual with torque specs would be helpful. Cheers, Jersey
  7. Helo All, My mate & I bought a 2007 Beta Rev3 today. Our goal is to cross-train for enduro & dual-sport trail riding on our KTM 400's. I suspect we'll be adding trials comp's soon though. We'll share he bike. We'd be glad to hear from any trials riders in the New York City metro area, especially if you have a local riding area. We're not afraid to travel. We haul our trail bikes from North Carolina to Rhode Island for opportunities. There's just enough room in the truck to tuck in the Rev3 along with the KTM EXC's. Other than adding a slow turn throttle, we're good to go. Cheers, Glenn & Janet (aka "jersey")
