You can download a free (full) workshop manual from the USA Beta website.I was surprised to find it and grabbed a copy in case it goes away. It is for the 2010 model.

thanks, using this search you find the user manual, which one can also get from the Beta website. I was more looking for a workshop manual. Guess it does not exist as most operations on the small engine are quite trivial (once you've done them once ;-) )

Sorry, yes it is the user manual from the Beta site that I printed out.

I haven't been out on it yet as I need to buy boots , helmet and a trailer.

I should have these sorted in the next 2 weeks.

to work on the clutch is it necessary to drain the gearbox oil or can I just put the bike on its side and open the clutch cover?

Also does there exist a workshop manual for Beta evo's?

I've ended buying a Beta evo 250 2010 as it was in excellent condition - only seen 11 clubman trials and still on the original tyre and sprocket.

The only reason I was looking at a 290 beta evo is that I read the power delivery is smoother than the 250 so you get more grip - hopefully someone can comment on that assumption.
