  1. Does not matter how clean the carb is. What matters is if the pilot circuit is clear and the choke circuit is clear. (As in letting fluid pass) Also it sounds like you have a bad needle & seat(the float valve) and / or the petcock is bad. Should usually start 2nd or third kick.

Hi cheers for the reply the petcock valve is ok i have removed the fuel pipe of it and when i turn it on there is plenty of fuel coming out

how would i be able to tell if the float valve is good or not?

  2. I bought a 93 GG and its a complete biatch to start.........

I have cleaned out the carb which is now spotless.......

I have replaced the fuel in the tank........

New plug and cap (Good Spark) and adjusted the plug gap correctly......

it doesnt matter how many times i try and kick it of the dam off it will just not fire up UNLESS......

i drain the carb after using it by turning fuel off and letting it run out....

then the next time i come to start it, it will go after about 5/6 kicks.....

Is this normal or should it go now matter weather i leave fuel in carb or not......??

Any ideas of how to get round this so it just starts like any other bike????

  3. What model and year are your bike?

    1. Blue stuff I suppose.

    2. ATF Dexron III (suppose Dexron II is not that bad either)

    3. Pre 2002 models. Don`t know but may remember 650ml oil. From 2002 TXT PRO models there is a glass on the clutch cover. Fill to the middle of it. About 330ml on 2002. About 500ml on 2003 and up.

    1993 GG 250cc

the reason i ask about coolant is that the red stuff is for aluminium engines i think

  4. Another couple of question

    1. What type of coolant can i use in the water either the blue stuff or the red stuff (Both car coolants but shouldn't matter should it) and what mix 50/50??

    2. I have read that i should use ATF for the box, but can i use any as my father has loads of it at work which is used in Caterpillar excavators so will be top stuff??

    3. And also on the box is it just like a level bung you take out the side near the kick start and fill up till it runs out the hole??

    Cheers wayne

  5. Was looking through the forum last night and came acros a thread about how you can tell what age etc the bike is by looking at the frame number as the number tells you model and age etc

BUT cant find it now can some one put the link on this thread so i can look at it again PLEASE :thumbup:

  6. I have just purchased a 1993 GG and am new to trials biking,
