  1. We believe (and hope!) so, there was a fair few metal chunks around so we did a full stripdown but could not find any other problem. Runs as well as ever now so hoping that was the only fix required.
  2. Well finally sorted it out. Had to replace the 2 kickstart gears (which were totally destroyed) and 2nd gear wheel. Gasgas UK were excellent, unfortunately their prices are not. 85 quid for what must be the worlds ****tiest gasket set, an absolute joke of a price, but I needed it so that was that. But just glad to be riding again after a few months off..............
  3. 2008 TXT Pro. Started off well enough then difficult to change gear, like 1-2 seconds delay when upchanging, really bad between 2-3, then had a crash a lost the gear lever. No drama, not far from the car and stuck in 2nd gear, a few sections later and lost all low-end power! WTF. Limped back to the car. Dropped the oil and shards of steel on the drain plug. Bugger. Oil has been changed often, I used ATF III. Had a read of many posts regarding the gear change issue so that seems pretty clear cut, cases will need splitting and gearbox checking. Kickstart also needs checking. But what about sudden loss of all low end power? I did notice a small amount of oil leaking from the cylinder base gasket, but not sure if that is coincidental or not, could a broken base gasket kill all the low -end power? There really is only a small amount of leakage. Reeds? I'm fairly new to trials and even newer to working on these bikes so any tips would be apprecaited. Where do you guy's buy Gas Gas gearbox parts from, I usually but stuff from TT but they dont list what i suspect I will need. Thanks Daz
  4. Did the 2011 280 Raga Rep come with the option of the gold frame? Or was it the 2011 Rep the black frame only? According to the GG website all I can see is the black frame in 2011. I'm curious as a nice one came up for sale but advertised as a 2011 with gold frame.
  5. I need some advice on replacing 2000 250 Beta Rev 3 with something more modern - another 2 stroke. Current bike is very worn in many places (bought like it as I didnt know better) and i want to upgrade. Living in Thailand spares for all bikes are just about non-existant so I'm looking for a reliable, hard wearing bike just for fun use only and to improve my enduro skills. I have a budget of 2,000 quid and was looking at maybe an 08 - 09 Sherco / Scorpa to take back to Thailand. I was ridiculed by my mates who swaer they are made of cheese and to stay clear and look at a Beta upgrade or a Gas Gas. Pretty sure they may be biased in Beta's favour but do they have a point? I'm still a beginner, but wouldnt mind something a bit punchier than my old Rev 3 and with better suspension. What would you recommend?
  6. Hi everyone, just saying hello from North Thailand. I'm back to the trials bike after a break of 30 years (last bike was Mick Andrews Rep Ossa) and will be in the UK soon for a month. I would like to get some one to one trials tuition from an expert for a couple of days in the North Yorshire / Cumbria area. Tried a search but could not find anything relevant, anybody have any experience with a trials trainer in this area? Cheers Daz
