  1. Thanks for the replies. No problem with being intimidated, she'd love a 300 if she could kick it over. 250 seems to be a good size for her, easier to start than a 300 and more zip than the 200. I am gaining confidence that we can make the clutch enough easier to pull that she could get along with the Beta. Both of us are long time Gas Gas riders and making the switch is a little odd. I do feel like the EVO is pretty good for me (had the 300 for a year now) but I agree with her the clutch lever does take a bit more strength that her little hands don't really have.
  2. Wife is thinking of going from her 2010 Gas Gas 250 to a new Beta 250. The amount of effort required to pull the clutch could be a deal breaker. She has ridden my 12 300 Beta and some other locals 250s and she has a hard time one fingering the clutch. My understanding is that you can reduce the pull at the lever. Anyone done this? Does it work well? No slippage? If you've done a mod for this what exactly did you do?
  3. I seem to be hitting the throttle cable when do a bigger hit and go forward on the bike which pulls the cable out of the housing the bars leaving me wide open. I have to stop and wiggle the cable to get it seated back into the housing on the bars. Anyone else had this? Is there a cure?
  4. Buying a 2012 Evo 300. What is the best gear oil for it? I know this is a loaded question, everyone has pet lubes. I have used Autotrac II in my Gassers for years but the Beta is a new ball game.
  5. Assuming that the fan runs as it should I would check the impeller on the water pump.

    2013 300

Thinking about a 13 300 to replace me 07 GG 300 Pro. I have been on Gassers for a very long time. What will I find better on the Beta? Anyone else made this change that can tell me the big differences? I have spent a little time on a 12 Beta 300 and it seemed friendly but I did note the power was softer off the bottom. Anyone have a 13 yet? Do they turn as short as a 12 (new frame on the 13)? More torque down low with the new timing curve? Craig
  7. Would love to ride a Jotagas but I don't have access to one and I hate to buy one since they are so new on the market (unproven). I have spent some time on a Beta 300 (2012) and I like it but..... nearly impossible to find neutral with the engine running, clutch is really different from the Gasser and I have some concernes about being a test case for a brand new frame. The power delivery on the Beta is way different too. Softer off the bottom which might help in the mud, not so much when I am dumb and get too close to a BIG log and need the pop NOW. Love how short the Beta turns, they say the newer (12+) Gassers turn some shorter as well. Steve, tell me what you like better about the Beta clutch. Shercos are nice but it seems like there are some reliability ussues that I'm not sure I want to deal with and frankly the new yellow frame is butt ugly IMHO. Thanks for the input, Craig
  8. Looking at 2013 Gasser 300 and a Beta 300. Been a Gasser guy for years but I kinda like the Beta too. Tell me why I should stay with GG. Anyone got a 13 300 pro yet? Will I find it way better than my 07 300? Will it turn as short as the Beta?
