  1. Not only am I new to the bike 250SY 2003 model, I'm new to trials and 2 strokes. I'm just after some pointers...kind of a do's and don'ts of owning and maintaining the bike. The bike as it is has been looked after by it's previous owners, and I want to continue that trend. Is there anything specific to that model that I need to be aware of ? Also what about the fuel/oil mixture....the previous owner said that he ran it 50:1 as he felt uncomfortable running it any different (old boy with a couple of old twin shocks in his garage) should I continue with that mixture or make it more in line with what I have been reading on these forums (80:1) In short anything that owners of this model should know Ta
  2. Hi all, I've always liked watching trials, but after some badgering from a mate I have finally sucumb to giving it a go. Ive been riding push bikes (mainly bmx/mtb) ever since I could walk, and riding motorbikes for the past 10 years. I've just bought an '03 Scorpa 250SY so I can get started What I'm really after is the collective knowlege and experience of you guys on here. I know it's going ot be a steep learning curve, but I want it be an enjoyable one, so give me your hints, tips, stories, and advice that you feel everyone new taking up the sport like me should need to know.
  3. Well, I went and did it today.....Didn't really find what I was after within my budget, so broadened my scope and gave the budget a tweak. The result '03 Scorpa 250 SY Looks well looked after clean enough for me to start on.

  5. I've got a 2004 Honda CBR600RR thats been highly modified for track use and it's bloody awesome The reason I'm looking at a Sherco is down to a friend who has one, we will trial together and therefore can pool spares etc Budget is sub £1000, the more sub the better

Considering that any of the bikes I've found are in excess of 250 miles from me, I have to take things on face value to start with.
  7. Hi all.....Not only am I new to the forum, I'm new to trials too. I've been riding for a good few years and have always had sportsbikes, but I think my tastes are changing and I really fancy having a go at a more technical discipline, although I still have my trackbike for high speed rushes. I'm going through the process of trying to find the best bike within my budget (looking at Sherco 2.5 on advice from a mate) Based right on the south coast in Portsmouth Anyway........Hi

I'm looking at buying my first trials bike and am looking at Sherco 2.5s Ive found two that fall within my budget 1. 1999 2.5 SSDT Jarvis etd. - Looks good and clean from pics, and owner states that its in very good order and "all bearings replaced including suspension linkage" 2. 2002 2.5 - Looks ok in the pics, and again owner states good condition Both are miles away from me, so just popping out to inspect is out of the question, it'll be a case of picking one to look at and buying there and then if it's ok. My main question is really regarding the age of the bikes, when I've bought bikes in the past I always try and get the newest version of the desired machine, but in this case, it appears that the older one may be better. What I don't really know is parts availability and interchangability between years. I understand that the main frames hardly changed across a good number of years, but what else ? If I buy the older bike will I struggle to get parts ? Cheers
