  1. Right, bars on order. Yokes, mmmmmm, maybe after some serious creeping to the financial director (wife). Cheers all, much appreciated. Oh, I do have a mate that's a bit of a dab hand with billet so on so forth. May have words with him at some stage to :)

  2. What bars do you use? :)

Im 6 foot 6 and just got my TY all together and even got an MOT on it (not that im doing any mileage on it). Anyway Im finding it a bit low in the bar region, even after I put some Renthal enduro High bars in it. Now I have a GasGas EC300 and a Kawasaki KDX220R, obviously you can chop and change clamps etc on them but the TY are solid clamps and worse still, point back towards you. This is obviously not very handy for risers.

    So, any idea chaps?

    Cheers.

  3. Cheers gents. The swinging arm I have has a slot for for a lug, not the arm so this is why I was thinking late 70's DT as they mostly have to. I was quoted a bit less on the wheel build Dougal but yeah, near enough. As the bike only cost me a few hundred quid im looking for the cheap option (keep wife happy as I already spend enough on my other bikes :) ). Cheers Tony, i'll look into it. I actually had one of them bikes years ago.

  4. If I remember right that is the way to check level. It is much easier to just change the oil with the correct amount. Which is stamped in the case by the oil fill.

That isn't the issue, the issue is why does oil come out of that screw hole?!?! Could it be an overfill drain??

Ha! Yeah, I noticed that MartyB. Yearly oil changes on the TY yet my GasGas and Kawasaki Enduros oil has to be changed every few hours. Ha! Saves money doing trials I guess :)

  5. Now maybe I've found how to check the level or ive found a problem. :)

Theres no dipstick or level sight on the TY mono but I did find that if you take the bottom screw out of the front sprocket cover, it leaks oil if over full. Now I've had things like Husqvarnas etc that have a similar set up. Now is this right or has someone at some stage just wound to long a bolt into the casing? Its an easy fix either way :)

  6. New to the trials world, well had little goes in the past but always done Enduro and the likes more. Anyway, recently bought a 1985 TY250 Mono. I also have a GasGas EC300 and a Kawasaki KDX220R.

Erm! Im in the a*** end of Lincolnshire, erm! I like beer and loud punk and Oi!

Ha! What else do I say?!?!?!?! :)

    Sod it :) Hello :)
