  1. quick up date folks, after the clean out i still heard a noise so i had the engine stripped down and it was found the main bearings were the cause of the noise. Had it re-built with new mains, little end and a gasket set and its all good now. thanks for the help through out my problem. cheers Paul
  2. bike is back together, ill pick up some new fuel tonight and test it tomorrow, i hope you guys are spot on
  3. just a quick update, i could'nt help my self i took the carb off and found 2 flakes of aluminium in the bowel " how the hell did that get there" also removed the tap from the tank and sure enough there is dirt around the bottom of the pipe, iv ordered a new plug although this one look good just to be safe. Its strange that this could cause the knocking noise, i guess i have a lot more to learn about 2 strokes. I look forward to getting it back together to see if the noise has gone. Should i turn it up side down and clear the crank case out as well??
  4. cheers guys ill get into it wednesday i with, i have to fix the van first lol, its all going wrong, i will post my findings as i go. Thanks once again
  5. just a thought over night, i have a new in-line filter fitted, surely this would of stopped any dirt from the tank???
  6. thanks for the reply, can you say why a plug would make a difference so i understand why i am doing some thing, it was a new plug at the start of the day?
  7. sounds like good advice, i had a problem with dirt in the carb last week so i cleaned it out along with an oil change and new plug and air filter, i guess i should have cleaned the tank as well, ill report back my findings during the week when i have a chance to take a look. cheers
  8. hi Folks, i think my engine is broke, i ran out of fuel so went to reserve and after re-starting it never sounded quite right, when accelerating and backing off there is a knocking noise which sounds like its coming from the bottom of the engine but could be any where. It feels like i'm down on power and the power is also not as smooth. any suggestion what i should look for, i always think the worse so hopefully one of you guys can point me in the right direction. Cheers Paul
  9. cool, i was on there site last night before i saw you post, i'm glad you got pop's sorted, ill give them ago, thanks very much
  10. Hi everyone, thanks for your comments, some of them i have already looked at. I spoke to a supplier in the UK and they have told me many of the importers don't bring sizes over 38" into the UK. Clice go up to 44" but UK importers don't stock them (factory order only) Jitsie go up to 40" Wolfsport up to 38" in trials pant but 46" in enduro trousers but they have said they can get some trials pant made in 42". This go me thinking is there enough riders out there that would like the correct branded gear????? if so i might open discussion with the factories/importers and bring gear in for the larger rider.
  11. Hi Folks, i'm new to riding and just getting kitted up but i can't find trousers/pants in my size, most companies finish there sizing at 38" i have found one company going to 40" waist, i would like a 42". i am sure i am not the largest person to ride a trials bike, i know the wife says i should my be seen in Lycra but never the less i would like the right gear. Any advise of where to shop in the UK or online for world wide shopping? PS. I think some one needs to tell Hebo XXL is not 38" waist Cheers Paul
