  1. Hi thanks for the reply BL  engine is just  rebuilt with new piston /rings/small ends/gudgen pin     rebored to 84mm carb/jets are all clean/clear

I took the floatbowl off   "one more time"   to discover one float has completley disintergrated into many small pieces floating around within the bowl

carb is original I think from 1976 Bing 84      also ordered new float ass. new jets pilot/main/needle from Inmotion

so waiting for post to arrive then will report hopefully just some fine tuning  on the pilot as you said       watch this space

  2. is there a factory set for float height on m y 76 350 Sherpa , at the moment it is reluctent to start , takes 3 /4 kicks with choke on

all jets pilot /main are clean  , passage ways are clear , fuel filter is new , needle is set in the middle groove ,pilot is screwed out 1 1/2 turn

once it starts it runs normally right through the rev range ,

  3. I have tried easing the spacer to one side to show the bearing and hopfully drift it out with as much heat as I dare either side of the hub no joy

this morning I placed an M 10 expanding rawlbolt just inside the hub/inner part of the bearing tightened it up to grip on the inner race ring

and with some heat equal to the nose cone on the Space Shuttle  and a few hits with my 4kg lump hammer from the othe side of hub

out came a bearing EUREKA !

the other bearing was easier to remove of course,    I did find heavy traces of red loctite on the hub dont quite know why as bearing recess X 2 " are in good usable order ?

thank you all for your input

I noticed there is no head gasket is this normal on my model ? also stamped on the cylinder close to the overlap joint is 159 R my engine No, is JM-19100771

the bore is unmarked with a std. Mahle piston any help gratefully received Stanley

How did you go with the re-torque by the way?

    Mags
