  1. Thanks guys. Some great advice here. We will do so. More practice and drills ahead and we will try and focus on planning a line, and trying to stick to it. Maybe also ride a few self-setup sections to get a feel for all of this.
  2. Done that. Have the Ryan Young training DVD too. My question is more on what you guys feel from your experience the things are people should look at / think about / make sure they understand / practice in preparation for their first trials event.
  3. Hi all. The wife and I are doing our first Trials event on 15 October. We are practicing turns, ascents, descents and balance as much as we can, but are wondering if any of you have any tips on what else we should be doing in preparation. Maybe riding over small logs or rocks or something to get used to it? I'm not sure how one actually sharpen the skills of walking a section and planning lines, etc so any suggestions would be appreciated.

    Greasing Likage - Trix?

Hi guys. How do you get the linkage pins out? I removed the circlips, and tapped on the pins but they didn't seem to want to move. I abandoned the effort as i did not want to tap any harder on them. I also cannot find any videos or anything online. Any tips?

    Ossa tr280i rear fender

Thanks guys. Apparently the 2012 models had a rigid rear fender which was replaced with a flexible one in one of the later models. Mine is very stiff.
  7. Thats brilliant! I'm going to do the same.

    Really Easy Start

I did roughly the same on my 2012. Built a 12v battery using cells from an old laptop battery. Killswitch button to activate it. Chargecontroller pluggy for recharging.
  9. Hi guys. Got a 2012 Ossa TR280i for a price i could not say no to. I'm a bit worried about parts, and already want to order me a new rear fender as i am pretty sure I'm going to break the one on the bike eventually. Where can one order Ossa bits these days?
  10. I noticed. Sold the Beta. Buying a newer model Gasser this week i hope. Will be doing balance and fig8's the holidays. Might support the sport a bit and enter clubmans class next year and see how badly i suck.
  11. Hi Steve0 Getting into trials now too. Up in Pretoria myself. ☺
  12. Hi guys. Been riding offroad bikes here in South Africa for a while, started getting into enduros very recently. I always wanted a Trials bike and decided to get one to hone my skills for my enduro riding. Bought myself a 2003 Beta Rev3. What a great machine. I might actually drop the enduro and compete in Trials one day. When I got the Beta, I did what i always did when i buy a secondhand bike and stripped it, checked everything out and re-assembled it. Nothing really to fix. Guess it's true that these bikes last very long. Took it for my first ride quickly (Did not kit up so i took it easy) at a small rocky hill behind where i stay just to get a feel for the bike and see what it does on loose rocks. Man it is a ton of fun. Some helmet mounted gopro footage: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UUd6c3IrtQk Now to learn to ride it properly. Lots of great tips and advice on here.
