  1. woooaaaa wooooaa ..... stop !!!!!! Biff ....you cannot possibly have a girlfriend /wife ..... which chick would let you do a tear down in the loungeroom !!!!!!!!!! and if she does then SHE IS A KEEPER ....... nice work , I do like the idea of ratrod trials ... my sy 250f has been resprayed matt black and all stickers removed and thinking of lepoard skin seat pannel ......vive le differance (sorry aussie here , we don't see many french)
  2. cheers .. It appears that it has both a venturi splitter on the airbox side and a diffuser (a disc with 2 vertical vanes in it ) ..... I reckon they struggled on , tried everything ...then got sick of it ...then released it onto the marketplace.... I will up the idle ..... start with the basics first .... The rest of the bike and the power delivery is fantastic . it's just the initial stumble that gives me the dabs
  3. i am thinking of one of these ... http://www.ecotrons.com/products/small_engine_fuel_injection_kit/ .. anybody had any experience , good or bad with diy efi ?
  4. perhaps they don't this problem ...... I am a big Aussie ....like 5 japs strapped together weight (and skills) wise.. Thanks for the heads up ...... I know i should just buy a 2 banga ,..... but i am too pig headed to stop beating my head against the wall ....... just yet
  5. i have been dreaming of the EFI kits on the web .....will do some more research .....the rest of the bike is fantastic ....it's just that tiny delay as one opens the throttle ........ and seeing that I am so crap at trials I need all the help I can get .....or I just keep riding this and blame my shocking score on the throttle lag ...ha ha ha
  6. tis the 06 , non pumper carb ...so I guess that will be my next move (or a home made EFI using string and and old toaster) I am thinking of raising the idle speed a bit .... but looking at all options at this stage
  7. Hi guys ... My newest scorpa , the sy 250 F four banger ..is a ripper ,, but the "flat spot" off idle is driving me bonkers (huge thanks to Paul at the hell team in OZ for all your help and info ) and I guess that with such a forum of smart people here I should throw it out to the room .. What have you done to reduce the flat spot /hessitation just after idle on this bike ....? or do I just learn to live with it ...... or find a breaking late model wrf and steal the efi out of it ..... any ideas ?? (apart from selling it )
  8. the carby is a dellorto , it has an ovalised slide , and a diphragm pump off to the side of the fuel pump .... so the "overfow" hose outlets (one on each side of the slide ,near the top) .. are they meant to join each other , or just go straight out to overflow ? ... It seems strange that there is a hose connecting the two outlets , but there is an "outlet" at the low point (just above the exhaust pipe) . Carby is in bits as i type and wobbling around in the ultrasonic cleaner ..... Before I re assemble has anyone got any suggestions as to jet sizes .. I think the previous owner has changed them , but he used the bike for trail riding , not trials .... I am wondering if he hasn't made the pilot jet too big , and it "floods" as the throttle comes on , as soon as the engine picks up a few revs it runs sweet as ...it's just " hessitating" as one first opens the throttle
  9. perhaps a subset of a subset ..... four stroke ....jap motor .... froggy chassis ....it's all wrong .....that's why i like them .. grunge trials perhaps ...don't wanna look like the rest of the field !!!
  10. And Paul at hell team Australia , has scraped some bits up for me , so happy camper here .....Although was getting a bit excited about making a MAD MAX version of a bike ( sorta rat rod look)
  11. took the 250 out for it's maiden run today .... bit more poke than the 125 !!!! .... but has a slight hessitation on initial throttle ... decided that the carby needed a good strip n clean down , as it appears this bike hasn't been used for a few years so fuel might be contaminated .... well !!! ... rippin' the carby out is a bit of an ordeal ... gotta remove the whole back of the bike .... muffler n all (unless I am more stupid than I give myself credit for , and there is an easier way !!) ... carby looks nice n clean , but noticed there is a rubber tube that vents from one side of carby to the other , the apex of the hose is worn/burnt/cut through and not "sealed" from one side to the other .....I am assuming that this may be a pert of the problem ?? I want to get this right .... because I aint taking it apart again !!!!(that's why we buy scorpa's ....more riding less spannering)
  12. I am with ISH .....or the artist formerly known as..... Plumbers overalls are the go ..in oz we have "action back " press studs to allow for belly expansion (it rarely cotracts nowdays) and have elastic shoulder straps .... and if you get the deluxe "hard yakka" ones , they have kevlar knee fabric and pockets to insert knee pads (over here if your plumber spends some time on his knees , then you will too when the bill arrives) . My next move is to glue a flat top cap on my helmet and find a pipe !!!! (not sure if i want a straight shaft or a hooked type .....will have to watch more old trials vids .....oh ..... they don't call them videos any more ????)
  13. thanks ... have been in contact with Paul at hell team ... fantastic service , he is currently looking for one for me ... but being a jap engine that bit will last forever , but the froggy plastics will be her downfall . and i intend to campaign Scorpa's because no one else likes them ( except for you lot) ....
  14. dunno why , but I must be a sucker for the French and their friendliness ...... I now have a scorpa 125 , a 175 .. and have just bought a sy 250 t 2006 model 4 stroke .. ( was never any good at maths .... can't work out ratios's) I am trying to source some plastics for it ... based on the fact that I am crap rider and I can only throw muself under the bike so many times before i break a rear gaurd ... Don't need one yet .... just a matter of time ..
  15. sorry ..... "fast tickover" .... i am assuming you mean higher revs ...... am I correct ?
  16. geee ... the poms are a bit prude .... wouldn't let me mild swear on the forum ...... sorry for swearing ...... in Oz these are words my mum taught me ..... ha ha ha ....... cheers , and sorry moderators
  17. hiya hell team ... relax , you guy's are my first port of call should i need anything ... you *******s got me hooked by selling me my first one .....now i need more and more scorpa's ...... well actually what I really need you don't sell .... a can of skill or a tube of ability .... what I would love is a scorpa t shirt ... And thanks Andy for the positive words .. i got the scorpa cause as bad as i am at trials i am worse at maintaining my toys and i figure an air cooled 4 stroke is the way to go. Interestingly I rode some guys gas gas at the club the other day , and for what i do i couldn't tell the diference
  18. hi guys . Curious to know who has discovered a range of spares for the scorpa 4t 125 / 175 bikes . I am in OZ and i think I am the owner of the only 2 125's in OZ (please contact me to differ ..... I need a pal )
  19. although the white one is the 175 standard and the blue is the 125 with 150 kit .. someone might be able to help me here .. the white one has "143" stamped on the barrell but 175 cast on the other side the blue one has just had the 150 kit fitted .... but it is stamped as 125 still any ideas ?
  20. to the best of my knowledge ..... they are the first (04) and last (07) in OZ .... and probably the only 2 .... i got the white one first ... based on good reviews on here ..... and like it so much that when the second came up i grabbed it .... the 125 has way too much power for my ability .... he he

  23. hi Guys . Newbie here , but would just like to thank you all . I was looking for a beginners bike and stumbled upon the wee scorpa , checked this forum for advice/opinions because I was unable to test ride the one i was looking at ... I got it and are wrapt with it ... fantastic beast .... love it so much that I got a second one yesterday ..... dunno why ... they are just a bit rare down here and I like to be different ...... But again thanks fellow scorpa owners for the tip ... cheers
