  1. I did try to add a pic but it wouldnt load for some reason. I have made two versions both a three piece kit to put together around the tank. The differance is amazing. The guy I originally made it for paid a dealer to rebuild the bike and they had about four attempts to get it right and as soon as the first tank of fuel had the paint off in a week. He now has the red version I made on the tank and thinks it looks great. It was his idea to try to market the idea. I'll try to get a picture on again. I dont see why the system can't be used for other plastic tanks. Paul
  2. I have designed a plastic cover for TY tanks that will cover the old plastic one and make it look like new. The whole thing is simple to use and will offer protection to the tank in a fall as well. The unit itself is in three pieces and assembled around the tank. I am trying to judge the need for the product so if youe interested let me know. madproffesor@easyriders.com Thanks
  3. I'll post a pic soon. Currently its in three pieces, yellow sides and white top. It's a simple push over cover to hide the grotty tank underneath. Hopefully when i get a thicker plastic i'll be able to do it in one piece. Cost would be about fifteen pounds depending on materials really.
  4. Hi all with plastic tanks. I have just started to develop a hard cover (plastic)to go over a TY 250 tank. The prototype was made today and it fits a treat. Just trying to find a way to make it in one piece. Will keep you posted. THESE ARE SOME PICS OF THE PROTOTYPE.
  5. I have a ty250 pre pinky, with a leak on the gear selection shaft. Does anyone know the part number, I am in thailand and these numbers are hard to come by.
  6. Fantastic taking the front off worked a treat, would off helped if the previous owner hadnt put loctite on the spindle though. Kids think you are a god as they are a little closer to riding it now.
  7. Thanks for that. Mine seems to have a twelve sided torque insert. Did you fit the allen key into that? I tried the bolt head trick but it did not even touch it. I have released the single lock bolt on the other side.
  8. I am restoring a pre pinky TY 250 with a group of school kids in Thailand and I am having problems with the front wheel spindle. Is there a specific tool or does anyone know of a suitable alternative. Obviously getting genuine tools is an issue out here. Any general help would be appriciated.
