Regards the engine, if you require it rebuilding I can recommend Alan Winter (Alan the spanner) in Crook and Ozzy Byres in nearby Consett (Audit Engineering).

Both have a wealth of experience with that type of motor.

Hi, to check the pick up coil, you should get Red= 0.0 ohms, and green=40-50 ohms

Geetings, before removing the flywheel etc, I'd check the resistance values from the coils and pick up using a multi meter. I am sure the values are on a thread within Fantic 240 if you take time to look through the previous posts.
