  1. Hi Daz14, check that your carb jets are not partially blocked causing it to run really lean/hot. My 2013 EVO 2T (had sat for a while before I bought it) and it also ran really hot when I first got it, to the point that the engine was pinging anytime I gave it power under load (imagine the sound of a handful of marbles rattling violently in a coffee tin!). When I was diagnosing the issue: Like you I bought the larger waterpump impellor and it reduced but did not fix the issue. I also flushed and cleaned the radiator and replaced the coolant. I ensured that I was running the correct 1.5% of synthetic oil in the fuel, and I even tried running a colder sparkplug to reduce the engine temperature. After I removed both the pilot jet and the main jet from the carburettor, i noticed that both jets were partially blocked. After I cleaned them out and reinstalled, the bike immediately stopped pinging and overheating, is easier to start both cold and hot, and has twice the amount of 'snap' and power as it first had, completely more responsive and enjoyable to ride, with no overheating issues at all. I hope this helps you. Cheers
