Hi folks. I've not long treated myself to a TRS One R 250 and was hoping you could please advise on what tools I should have in the garage for maintenance and repair? Size of socket sets etc? My knowledge is pretty limited so it will be a learning on the job scenario as stuff breaks and maintenance is required. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

Thanks for all the helpful comments. I ended up going for a 2022 Trs One R 250 and although I've still to ride it I think I'll be happy with my decision.

Thanks very much for this. Did you feel the RR was maybe a but snappy without the slow throttle? Also do you find the One R pretty capable of doing most stuff in terms of sections etc?

I've decided on a TRS one but I'm getting mixed reviews between the One R and RR. I've heard for a very average rider (like me) the One R is forgiving but offers the versatility of the other models without having to "tame it". I've also however heard people who say they find the RR perfectly smooth and not too much of a handful. I totally get that rider ability playa a massive part but I was looking for any experience or advice subjective to an average rider looking to improve some of the "trick" type skills such as blips and hopping etc. Thanks.

Haha I'd love to be able to buy two but I'm doing well managing one bike. It's very difficult without the means to try them out.

I was considering the beta or trs but have read on a few posts now that the TRS is known for stalling? I think they fixed their awkward air filter fixing a few years ago so that would be another thing less to worry about. The left kick on the beta doesn't bother me so much but I thought a beta factory may be a good option for the higher spec components? There is a 2021 and another 2023 TRS for sale locally and a further TRS gold e start. I'm very undecided. Gas gas was also another consideration.

What bike do people recommend for improving technical skills such as hopping/blips etc for a very average rider? I've heard folk say TRS is the best for these techniques but is this a compromise on stability/forgiveness during sections where the likes of Beta are regarded as the most solid? Any opinions welcome. Thanks

Yeah not sure what sort of dealer report I'd get up here either to be honest. Those TRs look nice. Did the linkage rebuild work for long term?

That's very useful advice. They all have there strengths and weaknesses like you say. The beta I was co soldering was just a standard 2016 but looked in decent enough nick from the pics and videos. There are a couple of beta evos for sale near me buy they are 300s which would likely be a bit too lively for me. I've never ridden a 4t trials bike so the montesa may be worth a look too. More to ponder 🤣

It's a standard one. I'm very torn between them. Same as most things I guess. The pros and cons haha. That's encouraging to hear about the TRS as I'm certainly no advanced rider myself. I just maybe fancy something a bit different having had beta before but not sure with my level of ability I'd appreciate the difference.

Yeah it definitely sounds like it. Is it the sort of thing you could have done at the shop or is it like a reoccurring fix? Sorry for all the questions I'm just nit sure what to go for. I've had a beta 200 2018 previously and liked it and a gasgas before that which mostly caused me and my account heartache. Every review I read though about the TRS suggests it's a bit more exciting than the beta?

That's great thanks. I did see that issue re the chain tensioner on a review. So possibly a little more maintainance than the beta in terms of the components? I'll need to get more handy with repairing stuff and learn my way about the bikes a bit better I think haha.

That's interesting and good to know thanks. Have you experienced any issues with the air filter casing and failing to seal properly?

Controversial update but a TRs 250rr 2018 has come up for sale close by. Any opinions on those in comparison?

Thanks very much for the reply. Yeah the left side kick is fine and fenders look okay certainly from the pics. I take it there are no known faults etc?

Hello I am considering buying a Beta Evo 250 2016 model and was wondering if anyone could advise on what / if there are any known issues to look out for with this year of model? Thanks

Thanks for all the replies folks. I went for the 200. Everything sounded mint when I collected it but noticed when I got home and had a proper go that when I popped it into gear it started to stall even with the clutch lever engaged. I then noticed the bolt/pin on the clutch lever that feeds into the piston has sheered. I don't imagine this is a big fix? Cheers.

Hi folks. I was looking for some advice please. I used to ride trials when I was younger and plan on getting back into it. I was looking at the beta evo 200 and wondered what the thoughts were in comparison to the 250? I would be spending am extra 1k for the 200 and I'm not sure if it is worth the extra?
