Anyone with a GasGas TXT 250/300 (2020+) - Need to check a sticker
rich_r replied to rich_r's topic in General Trials Talk
Sounds painful. Glad I'm not importing (well trying) mine into CA. Just an update for those curious, I had a friend goto my storage unit today and he opened the bike shipping crate to take a photo of the yellow sticker on the headstock of my TXT 250. I've sent my application to EPA for approval. Hopefully it's a positive outcome as I really would like to try and do some events this year. -

Thanks Ron! No need to apologise, all good! That's exactly what I needed to see. Hopefully EPA will be able to accept the bike as a competition bike and allow me to import it. -

I've just been looking at random photos of my TXT 250, i noticed there is a yellow sticker on the headstock.... a bit of googling has brought me this image... i can see it says competition events only! Does anyone else have this sticker on their bike that can send me or post a photo in this thread?! https://www.moto125.cc/images/stories/actualidad/Milan16/GasGasTXTGP125_3.jpg @RonH? -

No, not Cali. I think even if you bring/import an engine, its still open to EPA import regulations! -

Not sure it's that easy. All engines need EPA approval (or EPA exemption) to come into the US it seems. I asked EPA about it and they said it needs the competition only stamps/labels or US EPA emission ones to obtain the letter from them to allow the import. The competition only tags are for bikes not sold to the general public aw well, they told me! GasGas sell the TXT in the US, but not sure what they are stickered with, if at all. EPA will argue mine is a 'Canadian spec' or non-conforming. -

I don't think there is a feasible way, unless it goes through EPA testing etc etc, which obvisouly isn't going to happen nor would it pass. -

Hi Ron Thanks for the reply. This is what I feared. On the US side, the EPA want to see either EPA emissions labels or competition only labels. Without them, i doubt I can import my bike. Which sucks -

Hi all I'm trying to import my 2022 TXT 250 into the US, but i'm currently not with my bike to check the stickers. Are there any 'competition only' or U.S emissions stickers on the bike? If so, could any kind soul send me or post a photos of the stickers (or stamps) so I can check with US customs if i can import or not. Thank you!

I've also been hit by the Royal Mail hack. My trials stuff was posted on the 9th Jan, still not left the UK yet.... In the US, try HVC Cycle. I ordered from them recently and i needed the parts delivered fast as my wife was flying into the US for only a few days (i'm in Canada) I emailed them after my order was placed and they responded promptly and fast tracked my order. Arrived all on time. So thumbs up for those guys. I did order some parts from Sierra Motorcycle Supply (a Beta dealer). Total waste of time, they didn't have the parts in-stock (website didn't say anything), still took my money and i ended up cancelling my order for a refund. I had chase them for an order update as well. I'll not use them again. For the UK suppliers,, there's a ton of them, it's just finding the one that has all the parts you want and has reasonable shipping to the US.
