I don't know for sure but I have heard the welding on the seams of the aluminum tanks is poor.

I would not leave fuel with ethanol in any motorcycle over the winter regardless of the tank material. Stabilizers may be helpful in preserving fuel but I would not count on them. Even though your tank is coated I think it is still a bit risky to ever use ethanol containing fuel in a fiberglass tank.

Not sure how I feel about that children's trials bike. I'm glad to see the OSSA brand back but that effort is kind of lame in a lot of ways. Vintage trials is coming on strong, I hear in Europe the vintage events are getting bigger turnouts than regular events. I'll say it again: Bring back the MAR with a plastic gas tank and a better clutch. BOOM! DONE!

I have a hunch that the electric trials bike market will soon be flooded with various makes and models. I hear that Yamaha has invested in EM to boost production. I think to bring an electric bike to market could be a tough thing for OSSA. I think they would be better off going the retro route and bring back copies of the old models, imagine a MAR with a modern clutch or a Phantom with a modern exhaust pipe. Capitalize on their past. No one can do that but OSSA.

Update: I got the O.K. from our association president to use my half helmet. I think because I'm riding the easiest sections that may have been a factor in his decision. Thanks for everyone's input.

Would a "half" helmet be accepted at a trials competition. The kind that just cover the top of your head. I use one for practice and really like it. It is DOT approved. I'll be riding in the lowest skilled sportsman class.
