    Cota 311

I have a Montesa Cota 311. This is the only trials bike I have ever ridden or even seen. There are no other trials bikes out here in Zimbabwe. I would like to know how this bike compares to modern machines. If I was to ride a modern bike would I be surprised? I find it difficult to keep the front wheel up and bounce/hop the front or rear wheel, but this is probably just me. Any comments would be useful. Thanks
  2. Thanks for replies. Does it make sense at just over $7000? I can also get a new 2010 EVO 290cc at $8700. Which would be a better buy?
  3. Hi All I have an opportunity to purchase a new Beta Rev 4T racing edition for about $7000. I cannot seem to find any reference to this bike on this forum. Could anyone with experience of this bike post some info on it for me? Does it ride well? Are titanium valves a problem? How reliable is it? Does this sound like a good buy? Many Thanks
  4. Hi all. I have a Montesa Cota 311 which is is, as you know, a 2 stroke. I would like to convert it to a 4 stroke and was wondering whether anyone here has any ideas as to what motor might fit? I don't know whether there is enough space above the existing cylinder head for a 4 stroke head. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Maybe somebody who has done this before. I was thinking a crf 250 motor. I am not a trials competitor. I use this bike for cross country riding with some slow technical stuff. I know many people will say "stick with the 2 stroke". I just like 4 strokes and if I can do this conversion without to much difficulty I will try it. I live in Zimbabwe, there are probably only 5 trials bikes in this country. My thanks in advance
  5. Hi Am in Zimbabwe and have a Cota 311 which I use to ride in the hills. Could anyone tell me how much oil to put in the gearbox of the cota 311 and what the correct fuel/oil ration is? Also is there a workshop manual available off the web anywhere. Many Thanks Edward Byrne
