- Leak From Ty250 Gear Selector Shaft
I have an oil leak from the gear selector shaft, is this easily fixed? Is it just a case of pulling out an oil seal and replacing, or will the gearbox need to be stripped. Any advice appreciated, many thanks in advance.- Ty250 Mono Front Spindle Tool
NO, NO, NO and NO!!!! It's simply a bi hex 12mm allen bolt and therefore a 12mm allen key is the correct tool. The original tool supplied with the bike is such, you're making things far more complicated than they need to be!!!! Thanks Gents, much appreciated. Now I can fix my front brake, just one of the tasks on the list to make this boneshaker Trials worthy. Regards : Martin- Ty250 Mono Front Spindle Tool

Can anyone tell me what tool is required to remove the front wheel spindle on a TY250mono (I'm told "S" version circa 1987)? It looks to me like a Torx or something similar. I also read on a forum somewhere that a 12mm Allen wrench will do - but I don't want to risk rounding the head. If it's a special tool, where could I get one from? Regards : Martin - Yamaha Ty80
