  1. I just bought one, not 2 months ago, at the Honda dealer part number 17920-KJ2-305 mins You that's for a North American Spec reflex, this could be different from the euro spec TLR 200 Tom in Toronto, Canada
  2. thanks for the reply. As I am using the bike mainly as a runabout, the "trials worthiness" is a secondary issue. I will probably fit a set of springs from a SL 125 ans see what the results are. Tom
  3. Hello everyone. I have noticed that my front forks bottom out without a lot of effort. I suspect the springs are shagged. Is there a source for replacement springs or a "fix" like pre loading them. and, Yes, the rider should loose say 20 lbs, that would help. Is fitting Reflex forks an option? Or will that setup foul up against the stock tank? Tom Tollefson TL 125 with Reflex engine (almost done)
  4. Thanks for the tips , I'll keep You posted on my progress. Tom
  5. Hello folks I am currently building a runabout hybrid , Tl 125 with a Reflex engine. as I am planning to use this bike mostly for general transport and trail riding I don't think a nice soft and expensive Michelin tire is a good choice here. about 20years ago I used Barum tires with a trials tread pattern that were rock hard and lasted forever on the road. that's sort of what I am after now. Looks like a trials tire but is tough as a hockey puck. any suggestions as to what I should be hunting for?? Tom Tollefson, Toronto, Canada
  6. Hi Larry I live up near Uxbridge (northeast of Stouffville) my shop is in Scarborough. I have a rebuild kit from Sirius Consolidated (the guy in Kitchener) and ordered a replacement float from CMS NL. the carb is perfectly serviceable , just wanted to get some feedback from other owners on the B&J carb. Good to hear there is another TL (and Reflex) nearby. I know another fellow up in Owen sound with both a TL and a Reflex (which I used to own) I saw Your pics of the reflex rebuild, very nice, high five. If You ever need help with fabricating, machining, welding give me a ringer. We need to go out for a spin soon, I am twitching with cabin fever Tom T 416 265 1617
  7. howdy folks if you rifle through this ebay store ( http://stores.ebay.fr/PROVENCE-MOTO-CASSE_...QQftidZ2QQtZkm) You will find the remains of at least 2 TLR200's and a TL125. not cheap but the man has what I needed My new TL 125 has arrived (just before chrismas) it' s a runner but needs some attention. the front forks make some weird slushing/ gurgling noises when compressed. is that normal?? despite the presence of a headlight and tail light the bike is not equipped with a lighting coil (hence the purchase in france) went out for some fun in the snowbanks the other day but the float needle kept jamming open due to a leaking float. I patched it up but to no avail. before I spend more $$ on rebuild kits and CMSNL replacement floats: would it be better to invest in a new carb from B&J? from Canada, with frozen fingers and a grin on my face Tom
  8. I guess I'll see when the bike gets here. I only need the signals and such to get it MOT'd. then all that bling is coming off again. I prefer hand signals and eye contact. thanks for all the replies. TT
  9. the Reflex was available in America and Canada in 1986 and 1987 I bought one new back then, $2700.- Tom
  10. HeY Brian Your site is decent. The parts book pdf is going to be an asset for me. I don't know yet what is wrong with the original setup. It may be just fine. It seems some TL's were fitted with the lighting end of the alternator missing, just enough for the ignition coil. if that is the case on mine I'll have to do some mods. although it has a lighting kit fitted I am not sure if it works. The previous owner cannot remember ever turning the lights on. I am just making plans while waiting for the machine to arrive. frothing at the bit... Tom
  11. Hello Brian Just bought the bike from Lewisport ( http://www.lewisportusa.com/for_sale.htm ) and it is being shipped soon. Can't tell You what's inside , but it has a headlight & taillight. I was thinking along the lines of swapping the ecetrical guts from a late model 12 volt XL 125. just wondering if it would fit. the Tollefsons are old norwegian stock, imigrated to MN & ND in the 1840's , then north to Sascatchewan TT
  12. Howdy This may have been covered before ,but: Is it possible to fit a 12 volt electrical system in a TL 125. I want to fit lights, signals, horn and such to make the bike street legal. Any later model Honda parts that can be used?? Thanks Tom Tollefson, Goodwood, Ontario 1973 TL 125
