  1. Hi all, Am in the process of buying a bike after a long break (see other thread). Having looked at a fair few 2nd hand bikes, given the model change to 2008, I'm considering buying a brand new, but older model year that dealers will try and shift - so a 2006/2007 or at a push a 2005 at the right price. Thing is, I've no idea of where I might find a dealer locally? I live near Reading in Berks, but anything within a 50mile radius is do-able, especially if the deal is a good'un An honest/good service dealer would obviously be preferable (as not all dealers are created equal ) I'd be grateful for any recommendations for dealers in the Berks/S.Oxon/Bucks/Hants/Middlx/Surry/Hants/Wilts areas? PS. Almost certain that I'll be going for a GG250 Pro, but i do keep finding myself drawn to Sherco 290s (must be a nostalgic throwback to the Bultaco Sherpa's ridden in my youth ) Just can't bring myself to like Beta's - totally unjustifiable from a 'good bike' perspective, but they just look so lumpy!
  2. Hmmm... good point. I've got my eye on an '06 Gas Gas 250 and an '04 Sherco at the moment, so will see what the weekend brings. I suppose that's the downside of having such high performance/lightweight technology - doesn't tend to be so robust.
  3. Hi Nigel, S.Oxfordshire, near Henley-on-Thames and Reading. It will be odd being able to drive myself to events - had to rely on lifts everywhere as a nipper Thanks for the reply too Pete - sounds like sage advice. Agreed on the comment re. age vs. condition - saw a 2006 Sherco go for
  4. 20 odd years to be precise (the break that is). Hi all, thought this would be a great place to post as it's a lively forum - good to be here. Anyway, after a LOOOONG break from trials (rode clubman/nationals in my teens), I've decided that it's high time I got back into the sport. This decision was also driven by our glorious Government effectively making 99% of off road riding effectively illegal. So having sold my trusty DRZ400S, I'm in a position to buy a trials bike and get going. Amazingly, my old trials gear still fits! So that's a cost saving I've basically got about
