  1. Thanks for the reply, yep have checked the cable and stripped, cleaned carb, snaps shut real easy and after nipping holes in balance pipes doesnt leak (unless you leave fuel on) not sure what to try next as does tick over well, just takes a while to drop off revs and this can be a pain when you are still a novice, any advice on the crank seals anyone, or what about reeds ?
  2. Recently bought a 96 Techno to learn the ropes on and are really enjoying it, one annoying problem is that the revs are hanging and it doesn't close off quick enough ticks over nicely though, just takes a while to come down, annoying half way up a climb as it gets ahead of me. I have checked its air tight around the inlet, someone has suggested it could be the crank seals starting to leak, any advice would be appreciated, also do you have to completely split the cases to change seals or can they be done by removing flywheel etc ? Bugsy
  3. I would avoid octane booster all together, i used to race boat engines and tried all sorts of performance boosters, actually melted a con rod on to crank journal by over use of octane booster. I know of many ways to blend fuel for better performance but all have draw backs, best to stick to high grade pump fuel and fully synth oils, otherwise you shorten life of engine, if you need more go get a bigger one .
  4. just bought a send hand tidy Techno but after reading this checked the cover, not a problem with this but the breather pipe between casings that runs under the clutch banjo had worn through and was collecting water mud and all sorts, might pay to check early models as it looks like it has rubbed a hole in it, B&Q do a good selection of plastic piping to replace rather than expensive oe part.
  5. Hi to all. just found the site as very new to Trials, based in Warwickshire. Have ridden a road bike for ever and raced hydrocat powerboats ,accidently took up green laning a couple of years back, after a mate persuaded me to take a trail bike to the IOM instead of road bikes, had much more fun and after spending a week on the mountains were hooked, so have taken the plunge and bought a Beta Techno to learn on, need some practice before having a crack at first trial soon, at 45 must be bloody barking but seems a good way to get the fix. Just want to say that after dabbling with many motorsports the trials scene is very helpful and loads of people prepared to put themselves out to make you feel welcome, keep up the good advice , very much appreciated.
