  1. Mike Sorry you find my comments offensive, but when you read the discription it sounds as if your buying a GENUINE RST250?? never heard of one, but when in fact your buying a botched together bike. As for the tank it has rounded edges on the bottom, originals are seam welded. The seat swing arm brake pedal along with the flutes are all Mike Whitlock it just does'nt seem right and to cap it all it's a TLR engine. So whats the % originality I'd say 10% but if the frame is genuine 25% not a lot in my book. I take it you are a friend of the seller, he said he would post a photo of the head stock but has not so far, you can tell from the head stock if it's a Whitlock or not. Also it has no frame number plate, anyone can make a number up I'm not saying this is but it has been done. As I've said to other people I own 2 genuine RS250T's and I'm building a RS replica (Whitlock frame)special with a RTL engine. So what is the bike for sale a cheap RS or very expensive TLR?? If you would like to see a genuine RS let me have your email and I will send you photos and then give me your comments or ask Beamish Owners he seen photos. Sorry again but I don't like people being ripped off Paul
  2. It does look good but I know its not original and when you look very closely you can see the tank is not original but a very good copy, and the foot rests seem to slant backwards and the seat does not fit correctly and I'm still waiting for a head stock picture to check the frame. If you would like a photo of a very good original one send me your email or explain how I can attach one here sorry I'm new to it so I have'nt got a clue. Regards Paul
  3. What I believed happened as I been told is that Honda had to make so many RS bikes to be able to compete so they made a production run with RS125, RS250 ,RS500 road racers and RS 250ts and the trials bike was the least made over a period of 2 or 3 years. Its been guessed that only around 100 to 200 trials bikes were ever made due to everything going mono (RTL) and as for the RS that looks like the TLR Honda ran out of RS250tf and produced the 250ta to make the numbers up. Hope this sheds some light There could'nt have been many because the 2 I've got are numbers **28 and **34 only 5 between them and I bought them years apart. Paul
  4. Still not convinced the only way to clarify it would be to see a picture of the head stock. For the record I'm building a RS special based on the Yamamoto with a RTL engine in it not a TLR. The frame in question has no frame number plate with it so it all seems a bit sus to me and I would'nt touch it with a barge pole. Also for the record everything I've said has come from Malcolm the seller with the exception of the frame but we will know what it really is when he posts the photo of the head stock.
  5. Totally agree the clutch clip that rogerroger mentioned is on the engine plate and could be off anything. All i hope is no one gets stung with this one.
  6. He emailed me and said it's a TLR engine and the previous owner still has the frame number tag and is trying to get it back!! I think the previous owner has had his trousers down. If you look at the rear mud guard frame were the loop used to be it seems very neat and tidy, and has a slight kick in it which is exactly the same as the Mick Whitlock frame. And as for the RST250 he could have made it up just for fun??

    Rs250 On Ebay

Hi New to this forum, just like to warn anyone who is bidding or thinking of bidding on the so called original RS250 on ebay as far as I can tell the only things original is the frame and that looks dodgy, the forks and tank also the hubs. The frame looks like a Mike Whitlock one, could tell if had photo of head stock. hope this helps if someone thinks they are getting an original. When I sus this out I will post a photo of mine which is original 100% down to the rubber honda badge on the rear mud guard. Thanks for reading hope this helps
