  1. Our 1997 JTX 200 has the same forks, these are not the same in any of the videos you can find on line. the four holes are the key. that top part unscrews so you just have a 3" piece in your hand which has the seal in it. you either need the special tool which looks like a "C" spanner or i used a oil filter type wrench which had a rubber belt to wrap round the end bit, i put the bottom end in my work mate and the end bit came off really easily. after that i put the bit in very hot (boiling) water and tapped the seal out. without the water it didn't budge at all but once it was hot, bingo out it came. without removing the piece and just pulling the fork sliders apart won't work as there is a collar there. hope this makes sense but i had the same conumdrum recently and this is the way.

    Rear Mud Guard

My son took a tumble on his 1997 JTX 200, yellow model, and cracked his rear mud guard at the weekend. the crack has not broken the mud guard totally and is still useable. What type of plastic is it made of and is there a glue i can use to stop the crack getting any bigger? Tim
  3. Thanks that's a top bit of lateral thinking, will try it later tonight. you're right i've tried to tap the spacer to one side but it's just not budging at all.
  4. I have a 2005 Raga 300 and have trouble taking the rear wheel bearings out. I have plenty of experience doing this normally but with this machine have come up blank. The bearing seals are off, but the spacer does not seem to move up or down to allow sight of the inner race to tap it out. I have tried gently tapping the spacer but this has only burred the end of the spacer and didn't shift the bearing. I don't think the spacer is steel but some alloy. The spacer is a smaller diameter than the inner race so unless I can shift it to one side or can belt the spacer I'm at a loss what to do; obviously I'm trying not to damage anything!
