  1. this may not be the solution, but in the past when i've had this problem i've riden the bike holding the front brake until disk in dam hot then put water onto the caliper, bingo sh*t hot brake. that's my method. hope you sort it out.

  2. I had same problem, I used an insert-nut. They're for wood really but work fine...mines been in 18 months with no problems.

Just a bit of messing around getting the old one out.

    Check this - Clickety click.

Just screw it in and make sure it sits as you want it, then wind it out again and apply a bit of glue/silicone/araldite and screw back in !

    Andy.

how did you get the old one out, half the nut has broken with me.

thanks to you all for the advice.

  3. Right then I'm in a pickle as the nut in the air box that holds the mudgaurd has buggerd up, the nut has only a few threads left and does not take enough of the bolt. What can I do? any ideas welcomed, apart from buy new air box.

  4. I put a larger lever res on mine because i was having arm pump when i first had bike, then the other day put smaller one back on and found that it was fine. i reckon it was more to do with clutch adjustment, as i was pulling lever back and it was stopping short of the bars. so when i was in a section and struggerling to hold on the bars and the lever i was pulling on could not physicaly come back to the bar. abjust so theat lever comes back to the bar and you may find it is less tiring.

this may help if not try bigger res.each to their own.

  5. This section is one of the best in the forum for improving your skills.

I have been doing yogo for 4 months and have got to say it has helped with me balance, well it has found my weak points. So i

can work on them.Don't be fooled,my class is averaged age is 60 and all woman.I train 2-3 times a week and they could jump over my shoulders.

My training is 10 mins warm up running, leg press, chest and back. Then triceps and biceps. 4 sets of 10 ish reps with 30-40 seconds rep in between reps and 3 mins between each exercise.the rest period I normaly do incline sit ups.

    With two days rest .

Also big plus for me is protein shake straight after work out.

Big thanks to billycriag, always good tips.

  6. Can someone help me out.

I have looked through the other posts but can find answer to my problem.

Changed pads and pistons in front break,I had problems bleeding but I sorted that out.

But the travel on brake lever was way to much for me,so took caliper off to see, pistons on one side only come out.The other pistons move slightly but not much. Also the piston on m/s is at it's max.

    Any thoughts please.

    Stop press.

Saturday night and I've sorted it.Did not have much faith in the hot then cold trick, but it worked a treat (can relax now).

  7. Thank you all for your points on this subject.

If nothing else it has tought me something, never bend over to pick up the letters from floormat until the ACU book has landed, that's some lump you'll have on the back of your head.

Next year CD not for me.

  8. I have got to say that latetly I have being using more thought and time when practicing of taking finger off covering front brake.

It takes a bit getting use to but a lot more control, a tip I found good was to just ride about nothing tricky and then grab the front brake as quick and hard as posssible, then take into section and do same.It gave me loads of confidence just knowing i can grab it quickly.

Also doing the same with back brake, just being aware that it's there and givng it a small dab whilst going over log or wheelie etc,the more you play with it the more control you get.

That's my take on it,but you can't see the scores I get ( should be playing cricket with my scores)

  9. Cheers Peter,

After trials today mate rode my bike down and he said the clutch adjustment by lever was to sharp, not enough play.

So we adjusted it,then i tried it out and it felt better, but I did not have much time as the good lady only gives me so much time to play.

hopefully that should do the trick.

It just makes me wonder how we just put up with things, thinking that's the norm

one week on, and this has made big improvment to clutch

    happy days
