Cheers Steve. Yeah the bike is a 2005. The bike was stalling a lot today which was annoying... I thought it was just me! lol

Would having too much oil like I had today explain why the bike felt like it was wanting to stall?

How much oil per 5 litres of petrol should I use? I'm all new to trials bikes but a friend recommend 3% oil to petrol. The bike was empty of fuel from being out on it yesterday so I filled it up with the 3% mix this morning but I soon found the bike very stuttery - e.g. in 1st gear on level ground with the clutch fully out the bike almost wanted to stall. The tip of the exhaust was also very oily. Is this a sign of too much oil? Would 2% be a better mix?

Any land is good! I'll be happy with a flat bit of land to get used to the bike!

Thanks for the welcome guys! I've only been on a trials bike once so I thought of just practicing this year to see how I get on and trying some trials next year. My mate Nick is a member of Bon Accord and has done a couple of the novice trials using the Gas Gas. @gjbiker - thanks for the offer of your land... that would be great to catch up with you sometime!

Hi I'm Grant from Aberdeen and I've just bought a 2005 Gas Gas TXT250 Pro from a friend who has changed to a 2008 Beta 250 4 stroke. I have no experience on a trials bike but I'm looking forward to a new challenge and maybe start doing some Novice trials next year. Cheers Grant
