  1. Only just seen this, havent been on here for a while. Depending on how i get on tomorow im sure id be happy to travel to the midlands for the next event. Would give me an excuse to meet up with some friends in the area. Well the bikes in the car (people carrier) ready to go, i think ive packed all that i need. Rearing to go now! Ta Reian
  2. Thanks for all the posotive replies guys. After calling up to see whether there were any entries left i learnt i couldnt do any of the events, as one was a youth only and the other a team event. Safe to say i was a little dissapointed as it would have liked to have done my first event a week after buying the bike. Anyway, speaking to one of the organisers on the phone he told me of an event that is being run this weekend coming that isnt far and has an adult novice class. So fingers crossed i shall be doing this one. Thanks again for the info, and replies Reian

    315r Clutch

Clutch is still the same, so i ordered some genuine Honda friction plates from Sandifords, hopefully arrive on Saturday. For a possible novice event on Sunday (see topic in general trials talk!) re grarbox oil i understad 0W 30 is the the grade to go for? Regards Reian
  4. Hi all, ok after a 3 year break i have come back to the world of off road motorcycles (previously i raced motocross and did quite a bit of trail riding). Last Sunday, i bought an 02 Montesa 315r. Since then Ive ridden it quite a bit after work (i live on a farm see!) Starting off with the basics, figure of 8s at full lock, practising balance, and controled clutch use. I have also done a bit in a little quary and and a forset which also had a river, slowly gaining confidence on each outing. Anyway my quiestion is...I picked up TMX today, and scouting the whats on section i have found 2 events that are on this Sunday. 1 has a class for novices and the other event hasnt, now do I go and spectate on the event which has no novice class, atempt to gleam as much information regarding techniques and rules (im still unsure re the points structure). Or do I enter the novice event and go in at the deep end? Im very keen to do the latter, but i understand that perhaps i could learn more maybe by goin as a spectator first? You opinions would be greatfully recieved! regards Reian

    315r Clutch

Many thanks for the help guys, will try the brake bleeding tonight if that doesnt improve things i shall get some friction plates and oil. Thats a great tip tip re gearbox oil filling, i did notice where the oil is supposed to be filled, and thought that would be a nightmare to do! I have a lot to learn about the bike, but im keen. Next step i guess is to find a local club to me (West Wales) Regards Reian

    315r Clutch

Hi all, after a while looking for a montesa i finally bought one, last weekend. Been away from the motorcycle scene for a few years, and fancied trying something different in the form of trials hence the mont! I love it, but i have a lot of practising to do. Anyway my question, clutch on the bike needs replacing i think, as it pulls slightly in gear when i have the clutch in and, its like a switch with no modulation. Is it worth getting a genuine Honda clutch kit, or a pattern one? (i see apico make friction plates for them) Also the bike didnt come with an owners manual, how easy are these to obtain?checked ebay but to no avail. Thanks in advance Reian
