March 15, 200422 yr Has any other Rev riders changed to the Hebo footpegs? I just switched out the stock pegs for new Hebos and they make a world of difference for me. The machine is easier to balance and I feel like I have more control / more places to stand. I thought about the CNC milled Scorpa pegs, but the Hebos are battle-tested and cheaper too.
March 15, 200422 yr Platform type pegs seem to improve all bikes, but everything is a trade off. You will never need another peg as the Hebos will be indestructable on the Beta. You will however bend or break the footpeg mounts. Also with the larger pegs you lose some of the ability to roll your boots off the pegs.
March 15, 200422 yr Author So, is it advisable to beef up the footpeg mounts, or is it smarter to leave them alone and let them break rather than risking a frame break due to overly strong peg mounts? (or take a point or two and not scratch the bike any more than it already is...)
March 15, 200422 yr More than likely you will just bend the mount. Carry a ten pound hammer in your truck and you can usually straighten it the first hit. Sounds crude, but effective.
March 15, 200422 yr Hey ClarkP - Yes the Hebo pegs are the way to go on any bike. - As for the Beta footpeg mounts we have had no problems with the new style mount on the Rev. - The older Techno model had softer mounts which did bend. The hammer trick worked pretty good for those.

March 16, 200422 yr Yes I have had them for at least a year, and have bent both footpeg mounts, one worse than the other. Anyone who hops on my bike for a try out seems to think that the handlebars are bent, but its just the right footpeg bracket I must straighten it one day.....
March 16, 200422 yr Skip the Hebos and jump up to Jpegs. They are a little more expensive but much nicer. I have seen destroyed Hebos in our club. They seem to have a limited number of bends in them. This is in no way a shot at the Hebo pegs. I think they are the best stock peges any bike comes with. Probably my favorite part of a Gas Gas. I just dont believe in the indistructable part. The Jpegs have a replaceable outer band that comes apart with 4 allen screws. If they get damaged or dull over the years you can replace the worn part. Aaron
March 17, 200422 yr do they then become stronger than the brackets and cause the brackets to fail? I am looking at better pegs for kids, but don't want to move the fuse link from the peg to the frame. k
March 17, 200422 yr Amiller, have you ever seen HEBO pegs bend on a Beta? Gas Gas yes , but I haven`t seen a pair on a Beta bend. It would be a wicked crash. I agree with you on the J- pegs, but not near as stout as the Hebo`s. Actually a better choice for the Beta mounts.

March 17, 200422 yr Those are it. You can get them with 3 different offsets depending on what you like best. The outer band is not as strong as the Hebo but thats not a bad thing. If you smack them hard that outer band soaks up the hit leaving the important parts unhurt. You can take the band off and smack it back into shap or just put on a new one. Smacking a one piece footpeg back into perfect shape is not a very easy task. I like the larger bearing surface and the fact they come with a 1\2 inch backwards offset. Aaron
