Hi guys

the question i have to ask is: is there anyway to tell if a preious Montesa(2000) model has been rekitted to look like a 2001 same for the 2002 can you tell the difference between a 2001/2002 just by looking at it or do you just have to go by what the seller says??

REV'er, the only real visual difference between a 2000 and a 2001 (excluding plastics and decals) is that rear brake caliper is exposed, where as 2001 onwards they are neatly tucked-in behind the swing-arm, the front brake is a two-pot and on the 2001 onwards is a four-pot.

I believe other than that it's all down to engine spec and frame geometry.

there is a way by the engine / frame number.
