Bookmark Help

Featured Replies

I know this website has its fair share of computer nerds or anoraks and it is to these people I am turning to for help.

Somehow, all my bookmarks have disappeared, I've looked in the recycle bin and elsewhere on my laptop but to no avail. Over the years I had bookmarked plenty of useful trials websites, music, sport, travel etc etc.

Can anyone :-

a) advise how they think this could have happened.

:xmas: let me know if there is anyway of recovering them.

Thanks

Hi,

You didn't make any changes to your user settings, i.e. created or renamed logons etc...?

Anyway, go to C:\Documents and Settings\########\Favorites

###### = your logon user name

Do you see your favs....or an empty dir ?

You might try looking under some of the other users i.e. ALL USERS, or DEFAULT USERS.......you'll see them listed under C:\Documents and Settings\

If you find your favs under another account then simply copy them to your current one.

Ian.

IanJ can I ask how is the easiest way too remove old users? just moved house see and i`m a bit limited when it comes too this whenever I do it it say it may affect other programmes and thats enough too scare me off?

delete the users in the control panel in user accounts or you can remove user profiles by going into system properties/ advanced/user profiles and then deleting them from there. Its not wise going into documents and setting and deleting stuff .. all sorts of things can happen.
