I keep on breaking my rear mudguard on my 95 techno. At the moment there is about 200 rivets, 150 tie-wraps and 3ltrs of evostick on it. Is there a ultra bendy, after-market mudguard i could purchase ?? Or any other durable repair technique??

Anyhill, I had the same problem on my '95 Beta.....unfortunately the only way not to break the rear fender is simple. DON'T FLIP THE BIKE!. what I did was to put tie wraps (zip ties) where the two mudguard bolts would've been. put small ones on & carry a few round with you. to repair a snapped mudguard just get a piece of old mudguard ( I took one off an old TY) heat the plastic a little & mold it to the inside of the origional & pop rivet together. the beta's plastic is brittle for that year I snapped one just by going over a log & the fender hitting my ass.............no I'm not that big either. hope this helps.

The zip-tie technique will work ONLY if you use really small zip ties - otherwise the ties will hold and the fender will break again. Its too bad Beta doesn't have a flexy fender like Scorpa does - maybe we can graft a Scorpa fender to the Beta... hmm, French parts on an Italian bike - that can't work...

My 98 Techno rear fender is the same as the 95 then.

It has snapped straight across ,just behind the seat.I have found that using small cable/zip ties dont hold it on when sumping out(which I regularly do) and they just snap off

The best thing I have found is Gaffer/duct tape,as long as it is a similar colour to the fender (I use grey on mine and it is a very good colour match).I just put a double layer either side,(where the zip/cable ties usually go) and another double layer over the top of the fender ,just behind the seat (where mine is snapped),Then put the seat back on to partly cover it

But it would depend on where the break is.

Duct tape is quite strong and flexible enough (but I would use a double layer)and very sticky and is readily available to be able to keep changing it

any hill buy a brandnew mudguard from bvm fully stickered and made from better plastic nd get really small cable ties the just pop of when the mudguard hits the floor and leaves the muduard in perfect condition and keep some spares under your cross bar pad

French parts on an Italian bike - that can't work...

Remember the Scorpa factory is now so close to Italy that the bike come from the factory smelling like Pollo alla Griglia.

You could also cut a small slot in the mudguard from the bolt hole to the edge so if you flip the bike the bolts "slip" out of the slots allowing the mudguard to release without breaking.

I tried this and it works!

Does that bike get used? Way too clean and nice to ride. Zip ties to the fender works great, on the Rev3 you have to drill additional hole to make work on the muffler side. Not yet broken a rear fender, crunched amny a front though.
