Having a van is the ideal but if you cannot streach your budget that far the trailer option is the best as the bike rack through experience puts a lot of strain on your car and footrests etc can clip your bumpers paintwork etc if you are not carefull.

    After running vans specifically for motorsport at weekends for many years, I built myself a three bike trailer using Indespension units and 50mm angle. It carries two road bikes, a bike and a quad or three Enduro/trials bikes. The beauty of having a trailer is that I have a car for the rest of the week to drive around in and not a van.
