October 6, 200718 yr Does anyone out there know of the mod' (light machining/grinding of the crank-case--I think?) to carry out when you change the main bearings on a Sherco 290. Like someone said on here recently,it's the sort of job you only want to do once. I think it's a simple shallow groove or two above the mains to guide a condensed oil trail down onto the journal when the bike has cooled. I know Paxua wasn't a fan of the procedure. I was told about it years ago by a source( and he never had a 'modded' one returned to him) but typically I can't recall the details now that I need to. Thanks

October 7, 200718 yr The problem is the bearing Ham not the crankcase. New sherco's come with sealed bearings now so the oil gallery mod is now redundant really spend and extra
