January 20, 200818 yr hello, i have a 04 300 raga rep, just started it before a trial, rode about 200 yards and the thing just died. i have checked the fuel flow, and the spark with 2 plugs, there is no spark, the earths are ok and i have removed the kill switch to eliminate that. it has a ducati ignition which explains a lot!!!!! anyone had a similar problem? can anyone help? bingo
January 23, 200818 yr My flywheel came loose and this caused an electrical failure. Also make sure the spark plug is screwed well onto HT lead as ive known failures due to it.
January 24, 200818 yr Hi Bingo, If the flywheel has not turned on the crank shaft and sheared the flywheel key, the problem may be the HT coil which includes the ignition electronics. The separate finned aluminium box under the tank is a 12 volt rectifier/regulator and is not used for ignition purposes. (Ducati system only) Bye, PeterB.
January 24, 200818 yr Author thanks, i have had the flywheel off and cleaned everything in there, fitted a new spark plug and kill switch, still wont start so have ordered a new cdi and regulator at a cost of nearly 200 pounds?!?!?!??!?!!!!!!!! i hope to god that it starts after all that!
