im currently stripping a pair of betor forks on an 1981 ossa, however in one fork there was a u shaped clip at the top of the spring and in the other it was at the bottom. Does any body know the correct position or have an exploded view of these forks.

Should be at the bottom with the 'U' part up inside the spring. Not sure what its exact purpose is though.

Surprising it's still there, they've usually been lost or discarded over the years.
