July 16, 200818 yr hello there honda fans . i was wondering if any body can give me some tips on the float height i have read somewhere that the float height can affect all the other carb settings and when setting a carb up the float height should be the starting point i am using the stand pipe method (a small transparent pipe in the bottom of the carb to see the true level) I dont know wether the level should be up to the gasket or just below. the bike was running like a dog at first and when i checked it it was well down the chamber ,now i have set it to just below the gasket it is better but i am getting a fair bit of petrol coming out of the overflow pipe! . if any body has had any experience any help would be gratefull thanks .
July 17, 200818 yr Author 25mm from the carb body to the lower edge of float...Hope that helps... Murray hi there thanks for that it says that i my service, book but is that measurement as the tang touches the needle or as it says in my book just closing as the needle has i little spring in it i still think the most accurate way is to measure it like this picture as you can see on this pic the level is near the gasket . is that right.. for a tl though ? ps this pic is not my carb. July 18, 200818 yr Hi Zarkoff, That's not a TL250 carb is it? The manual's not going to do any good there. Just eyeballing it I would guess it's about 5mm too high.

July 23, 200818 yr Author Let us know how it goes. hi there just done an evening trial and it run great so just the odd cough when it got really hot so i think i have got the float height sorted.
